EVAP canister... do I need it?

I was just wondering what this thing does. I'm getting a custom exhaust made and I need to relocate this thing somewhere, I know GReddy moves it to the middle, but I need to make the exhaust first, before I can make the bracket to relocate the canister.

So my main question is, can I remove this for like a day, just to drive it to the muffler shop and drive it back. Then get a bracket or something made. What exactly does the EVAP canister do?

It's basically a piece of smog equipment. This is a canister filled with charcoal that evaporating gas from your gas tank will vent to. There is a good reason not to top off your gas tank as this cannister can become filled with gas fumes.

whether you need it or not is up to you. While I have not seen the one on my G, I had to replace the canister on my SHO as it kept messing up my Canp solenoid valve

You can run it but the service light will come on. Do me a BIG favor. Tell me what lines go where. There will be three, one small and two large. I need to know where the two large ones go.

What exactly does this thing do?

Do you have any pics of the relocation bracket that GReddy supplied with their exhaust?

OK, so if I drive with it off, I'll get a CEL. Next question, if I resest the ECU after I put it back, will it clear the CEL?
