Re: Coupe Sunroof Wind Deflector
I think it doesn't do anything for the smooth lines of the car to have a wind deflector on the roof. Too many other "lower end" vehicles have it and you wouldn't want to do anything to reduce the pristine look of the car. Just my II cents.

Re: Coupe Sunroof Wind Deflector
Shelleycat,
You may be sorry you ordered it that way before trying it out as is. I've found that the sunroof creates very little noise even at highway speeds when open (either way, tilted or fully open), in fact just the other day I had a guy in the car for the first time, and after 10 minutes I closed the sunroof... he said, "Man, the sunroof has been open this whole time?"
Beyond that, the deflectors, as some have already mentioned, REALLY detract from the clean lines of the car. It's too smooth, too sharp the way it is to have some bulky plastic thing stuck on it.
If you can, call the dealer and tell them to cancel the deflector install, trust me!! You can always have it installed later if you still want it, but once it's there, it's gonna be murder getting it off without damaging the car.

Re: Coupe Sunroof Wind Deflector
It is quiet with the roof open bro. I'm surprised how quiet.
I personally wouldn't mess with the look of the roofline with a deflector but that's a personal choice. Definitely wouldn't get one due to marks and scratches either.

Re: Coupe Sunroof Wind Deflector
Rather than say that I disagree with the other posts that say it is not necessary, I rather come from the position of having used the deflector on two prior coupes for 7 years before trying it on the new 36c delivered on March 24, 2003. There is no question that it significantly cuts down the buffeting sound, especially when cruising at high speeds. Before putting it on the new 35c, I thought I would try the little wind deflector that rises when the sun roof is opened. Tried that for a full month and a half, and IMHO it just didn't cut it. Especially when cruising down I-5 at 85mph. Way too much sound and buffeting. Went back to using the Coupe Wind Deflector and am enjoying it. My concern is more on the functionality side, others are more concerned with appearance. To each his own.
