I got my car for about $555 less than the cars direct target price. I just used the Infiniti website request a quote option and the dealer gave me what I thought was a good deal. I got the car for about $1000 over invoice.

emailed around to multiple dealers...and kept dropping offers till they came down in price. I tried to get them to bid against each other, and then finally one of them broke down and gave me the price.
heh..I even tried to get him to throw in some stuff, but they didn't budge at all from there. I think I was really lucky when I got the price because it certainly wasn't easy. I wonder how much they made off of me since it was at invoice. I know holdback equated to ~900-1000, but I wonder if Infiniti is giving them further kickbacks to bump up the loss in sales numbers compared to 2004.

That is great man. I'm surpised anybody could pull this off in SoCal. You are definaly the first, if not the only. Who did you end up getting it from?

Well take into consideration, the owner of the dealership takes money off the top of the sale of the car. So whatever money made above that flat amount made by the owner is fair game for the salesman. Wouldn't you want to make a few Gs off of a sucker???
Yeah,
I bought my wife's Durango with CarsDirect's (still bought through the dealer) help. The Durango was stickered at 33K and marked down to 28K. I was working with CD and they gave me a price of 26.5K. I talked with the Dealership and ended up with the SUV for 25.7K from the dealership. I almost messed it up though. It was the only one in SoCal with the exact options my wife wanted and when I first talked with the dealership, they took it off the listing of availablity for CD. I had to do some quick talking to get them to work the deal, but it deffinitely works either way, as a tool or to aatually purchase through them.

Ray

Thanks RecerX35...
I am considering Cars Direct but I have seen cars from dealerships with more miles. My //M3 had 30 miles and I was PISSED! An Altima and Maxima I bought were around 10 and that was OK.
This may be worth avoiding the hassle of my local NY dealerships (Atlantic and Competition) which I have read some negative reviews of here and on FreshAlloy over time...
