Excessive orange peel paint
Excessive orange peel paint
The G seems to have more orange peel than I've noticed on my previous cars. I wonder why this is, and what can be done. Has anyone had their cars professionally wet sanded to fix this? Just look at this pic, makes the car look cheap or repainted....
I have a 05 IP and its just like yours. can see it more after I zaino it. Mostly from certain angles and up close is bad. Im dissappointed in the paint job though. Other than some minor rattles I love this car.
Some complain about shifter vibrating toomuch I think its ok. Feels the same as my Thundrbird SC coupe. I think the SC seats were wya more comfy thna the G IMHO.

Saw a Rolls with orange peel the other day! It comes because they try to cure em out too fast and because the public with very few exceptions doesn't realize that there is better to be had. Where's the pride?

Thats unavoidable on any black car.

All cars will have an orange peel from the clear coat. The way to get rid of it is to wetsand it with a fine sandpaper and then buff it out with the wheel. I did this to my old car. I had the whole car painted and it had orange peel. I wetsanded the whole car and then compounded and waxed it with the wheel and it was like a mirror. All body shops do this to cars after painting.
Bumpiness, like in the pic I showed above. Looks like an orange peel. I wonder what a reputable body shop would charge to wet sand and buff the whole car. I had my share of wet sanding small parts of cars before, some worked, some didn't. I wouldn't do it again myself, especially on this car.
