I Need Your Help, I Was Driving Over A Speed Bump And A Noise!

I Need Your Help, I Was Driving Over A Speed Bump Going Very Slow, And As I Go Over I Hear A Noise Like A Scraping. What Do You Think Scraped, Because I Looked And I Didnt Really See Any Scraping. What Do You Think It Could Have Been?

Im Realy Confused.

Cross member

I believe you scraped the rear black cross member, well, not really a cross member, but what's called a "tunnel stay" accoding to the service manual. It's commonly scraped (I think) as I've scaped it myself going over a speed and was going up a driveway.

See this link for pics I'm talking about:

It's basically sheet metal that's easily bent. I don't know what it's function is.

Probably not anything too important. Next time you're up on the hoist for an oil change, you will easily see what scraped.

I have a similar problem. To avoid scraping the underside of the car, I have to exit driveways at an angle. I am not sure if this can be serious. I must say that i had my oil pan replaced, however, this could have been due to other reasons.

at your next service just have the dealer check it out for you.

Ya I did the same in mine; F*King speed bumps... I had my fatty friends in the back seat. If you heard scraping by the front you were hitting your front plastic guard and if you heard it on the rear you were hitting your rear cross bar. The bar is quite sturdy as long as you are just scraping and not smashing it. Next time your under the car I might inspect it for scraps, clean it and apply some black paint to prevent rusting in the long term.

I got a large stick stuck in my undercarage once, It was about a half an inch away from my exaust. I would have taken a picture, but it was sooo close it would have made a grown man cry lol.
