We're not just talking a straight carryover into the G are we? Only way I can imagine it is with a "tuned" V8, which will of course rev higher and maybe add another 50-60hp. (while we're at it, why not a round 400hp?)

Even if it were a straight carryover it would be cool but if the massaged for a more sporty torque curve and more power that would be even better

Re: G45, Why not?

i guess u could just by the V8 fromt he FX45 and drop it in a G then simple advance the timing a little and then u are talking about one really fast G it would only cost a little bit more then a good turbo set up. But once u get into engine swamping u might as well go all the way and pop in a V12

how cheap do you think a motor is, hwo much do you think the labor is as well. A turbos price would be far far less then v8

Re: G45, Why not?

It sounds like we might be seeing a G45 coupe soon. I would Love to see Infiniti compete with the M3s, and A4s. That would be my next car! Imagine if they made a G45 in AWD!!!

Re: G45, Why not?

I don't see how they could fit a V-8 in the G35C's engine compartment. The V-6 is really tight in there as it is. The V-8 is longer by several inches, and I don't see where you've got several extra inches to work with. I'm sure it could be done, but its certainly not a 'drop in' job. I think they're better off with a twin turbo setup on the V-6 if they want to creat a really hot version of the coupe. And they could do it to the 350Z at the same time.

Re: G45, Why not?

Why not just take the M45 chassis, shorten it up a bit, have the computers do the suspension geometry math, and put some coupe bodywork on it. Styled like the G35, but with enough distinction for people to know its a G45.
