Cabal, I believe I adressed your ancient linked article in my earlier response.
This was also before they decided to go global (again) with the Infiniti brand. A lot has changed.
I swear to you both, I hope to lose $5 here. Wish all bets were that way.

ok so i know everyone is gonna tell me to get a 2006 model but b4 you guys do hear me out. Ive gotten a deal for $32,000 (before tax+license) for a brand new 2005 black on black 6 speed manual with just premium package only. I mean thats a pretty good deal. So here it is-
-if i go with 2006 model, prices will definately go up right?
-i would probably have to be on a wait list or something?
-the car is not even out on the lots yet
-6 speed model is not gonna be out until january 2006? true?
ok my last set of questions.
with the 2005 coupe's- can the headlights from 2006 be swapped on to the 2005? can the 2006 front bumper and tailights be swapped onto the 2005 coupes?
so what should i do?
whoever can help me out here- thank you very much

What I was saying regarding the quote was that I believe that Ghosn said it and meant it. The context of the interview was that it happened at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show, which earlier in the year Ghosn claimed would feature the new GT-R. That didn't happen and people wanted to know why. Perhaps true, perhaps not, but the spin he placed on it was that they decided the R35 GT-R was not in their best interests and they were focussing on an R36. The point is, press releases are hardly factual and often contain certain "Forward looking" statements usually footnoted with a disclaimer.
Also worth noting, I was trying to be fair and leave a chance for better "Proof" that it's coming. For example, supposedly the name "Infiniti GT-R" has been registered in Australia, the U.S., and even Japan. How's that for acknowledging both sides of an argument.
Anyway, we are both way off topic with this thread, so for now, we can only eagerly anticipate time revealing the answer
