The Clutch Is Great
Sorry guys, you can defend the clutches in these cars all you want, but they still suck. It's not a racing clutch, its a POS clutch. Those of you saying oh, that's normal, and that's the way a racing clutch is setup, and Porsche's clutches are, are completely blind to the fact that Nissan put a crappy clutch in these cars. The clutches are too small and too weak to handle the power the engine is putting out. That's why they wear out fast and chatter. It's a design flaw, plain and simple.
The fact is, clutches should not chatter when engaged. If it does, there is either something wrong with the clutch (defective material, warped flywheel and/or pressure plate, or oil on the clutch), or it is a poor design. It's not the driver. I should be able to slip the clutch all I want at any RPM, and it should not chatter. The clutch should slip smoothly at all times. It doesn't in these cars.
I've driven sticks all my life, and have only owned manual tranny cars. I've never had a car with a chattering clutch until the G35C. I'm telling you, its not normal, and not right. I've also driven cars with triple disc race clutches designed to hold 800+rwhp, and they don't chatter either.
