I guarantee you the 2006 AT coupes probably won't be available until November at the earliest. 6MTs will probably be first available by order Late Jan early Feb 06 with in-stock on the lot 6MTs becoming more prevalent Mar/Apr '06.

I'm just basing those dates on last year's G35 timeline. I was hot to buy an '04 last summer. I was hoping the 05s would get climate and stereo dials and other little things. Turned out I was SO MUCH better off waiting for the next model year. You'll have 4WS (is it HICAS still?) as an option, Bluetooth, Intelligent key, not to mention redesigned exterior lighting. I'd wait!

With all those goodies showing up in '06, the '05s (if you can find a 6MT) are still hot as hell and you wouldn't regret the buy - unless youre a tech junkie who wants the Bluetooth, oh - and if you wanna pay for it, the 4WS would be awesome on twisties. Not noticeable in day to day driving. FYI, for the last model 300ZX (90-96), kits to disable the HICAS steering became available because people wanted to fiddle with their rear suspension configurations. I'm sure we'll learn more about the ability to work with or around this 4WS system as M drivers and new G35 '06 drivers learn a bit more.

Well not exactly. They just don't order nearly as many 6MTs as 5ATs, so the demand for the 6MTs are higher since they are lower in supply.

If there are non in chicago, get on the net and find one withing 100 miles of you. Call and ask to speak to the fleet manager, tell them exactly what you want (color options, etc) nothing more nothing less. Tell them you have your money ready and want to pick-up today, and you want his best price. Make sure he knows you don't want to test drive, or mess with salesmen. You want to walk in, sign papers, and leave. THAT'S IT. Trust dealers love this, they do no work and make the sale. Do this to 3 or 4 dealers and then have them outbid themselves. That's what I did for the 06. BTW, when i did it for the 05 I got 150 over invoice.

Hooman, which dealership did you call into to get quoted 650 over invoice for the '06 and 150 over invoice for the '05? Im from OC and would be willing to drive to SD for that deal. Thanks.

I spoke to Dee Ancrum at Hoehn in Carlsbad. I'll dig up the emails so you can take a look.

the 06 would be a order, but the 05 was for one he had on the lot. Don't know if all 05's will get that price. I don't see why all 06's wouldn't get that price though. If you interested, I'll talk to him and see if we can both get ours for 500 above invoice (I wish!)

The dealer told me the 06 would be about 3-5% more than the 05. Inflation, additions, etc. That seems reasonable to me.
That would mean and 06 would be around 32-33K base invoice, instead of the 30-31K they have right now

Checked within 150 miles of Chicago. There are only four 6 speeds in all of Illinois-none of which come close to my desired vehicle with color and packages. Two dealers told me they have the exact car I want coming in Sep. One only would go $250 below MSRP, the other 1k below MSRP-both saying "these are so rare-usually we only sell for MSRP) garbage?

I just bought a '05 black/Graphite 6mt, aero and premium package, 2 weeks ago at Flecther Jones in Chicago. Quoted me $500 under MSRP, but got a better deal with the VPP discount.

The 06 6MT is going to come with Intelligent key as much as the 05 6MT sedan did

So I guess the same car as yours with navigation for 1000 below MSRP is an ok deal in Chicago right now?

Umm your numbers are wrong. It jumped up for the 05 year, putting it at high 32K low 33K. So you go 2-5% from there my friend.

Now if you want to talk what DEALER REALLY pays, thats a whole new ball park but its basically $2,500 off all the numbers you and I have mentioned. Basically 2500 off of Invoice. They make one hell of a penny selling it for MSRP...I think they made like $5,000 in pocketed money off of me.

Dude, go for $500 over invoice, $1000 over invoice at worst. Don't fall for the "xx under msrp" bull. Always work your way from invoice up.

yup those figures are right, with factory incentives and kickbacks, they pay significantly less (~5-10%) than invoice. and most dealers don't have to pay in full for the vehicle on their lots until the car is in ther possession for over 90 days.
