Strange noise under acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear...help?

As the title states, I noticed this strange "rattling/ticking" noise this afternoon while driving home from work this afternoon. It only happens when I start to accelerate in 1st and 2nd gears. I checked the tires to make sure nothing was stuck to them like rocks and pebbles and such. I also checked to see if there was anything stuck to the bottom of the car and everything is clear down there. Has anyone else experienced this strange noise on their G? The car is an '05 6MT with only 3,330 miles on it. I hope it's nothing serious. Any help is appreciated!

My car does it to. You need to give the car just enough gas, but not to much and you will be fine. From what I read it is a characteristic of the G. Start playing with the car in 1st and try different amount of gas and different speeds of which you release the clutch. Your car prob. always did it but you just started to notice it.

I've had the G since march and I know that I have never heard it happen before. It sounds like there's a loose marble rolling around in the tranny under acceleration. It's driving me nuts!

This is a known problem. I had the same symtoms and when I took it to the dealership they told me that I had the first 05' they have seen with that problem but it was common on the 04's and they knew exactly how to fix it and did! The service was fairly quick and on a no cost basis.

See the service bulletin here:

Thanks g35 anonymous, how long did you have to wait for the service to be done? Also, my warrantee will cover this issue right? If this is not serviced right away will anything else fail on the axles?

That TSB is different that what he is talking about. That is for rear axle noise. The noise he is refering to is when he realises the clutch.

It happens when I release the clutch and while the car is in motion. For instance, I'm driving 15mph in 1st gear and I step on the gas, the noise comes up and gets loud, I then shift into 2nd and hit the gas and the noise is still there. I doubt it's the clutch that's making the noise. Plus, this car has not been beaten on.

I've noticed a similar noise, actually a "creaking" noise when I shift from lst-2nd. Mostly notice after the initial shift, when the clutch is released, esp. if the car shakes from a rougher shift, however, it's there all the time reguardless. This noise does appear to be coming from below on the right rear. Is this the same thing?

I believe it is due to the type of clutch. ( double mass fly wheel ).

It can be a couple of things.
1. Spark plugs need replacing. This notice is common and its called "spark shock".
2. Low on oil. Needs to be synthetic oil. Get it checked.
3. Clutch is slipping.

Hope this helps
