Cleaner Wax? Isn't that used to take off wax or some sort of dirt? Not reallly suppose to use for making it shine.

Sucks to hear what happened, probably bottle was WAY too old and the conditions you waxed in wasn't the best. I've used NXT before and it never gave me the problems you described. I mean i let it set for a while and its harder to remove then others, but it still works, no scratches! ( You probably should use MICROFIBERS, instead of terry cloths )

I didnt post this for everyone to rip my car apart and tell me there were things wrong with it. I posted to let him know that things have happened to others as well. Once in a while a bad batch gets out, as did with the bottle of QUICK WAX that i had. I am in no way bad mouthing Meguires. I use all their products and at one time my car was sponsored by them. I just dont trust their quick wax anymore and stick to their gold class pour on wax and the quick detailer. They are a good company and they are willing to send you a new product if you tell or show them you had a problem with one of their products as i did that day at the show and he just did when he wrote to them.
I can't conceive of any wax that could possibly take off paint from a new car. The wax would have to eat right through the protective clear coat, and that would have to be one caustic agent, assuming that it was on your car for only a minute or so. Think about how caustic bird droppings are and I see them on cars all the time and most people let them stay there all day long, baking in the hot sun, before it is removed. In the vast majority of cases the bird droppings are removed with no damage, and even when there is some damage, it's to the clear coat and not to the paint itself.

Since paint was removed from your car and it has the original factory paint, it's infinitely more likely that some kind of caustic agent was introduced into the wax or to the cloth you used for waxing, than for the product itself to have somehow become so caustic.

BTW most companies will offer a free product to people who complain for customer good will. But there's no way in hell that I would accept free wax from a company whose product removed the paint from my car. I would want them to pay to have my car repainted, and if necessary I would take them to small claims court to recover for damages.
