I may be the most **** person when it comes to parking my G ANYWHERE (so I have been told by others). No matter where I go, I park in the furthest possible spot, and I don't care who I am with, it's just tough luck. I wouldn't want to come out and see that some mindless jerk decided he could swing his door open and leave a gash in my paint, sorry, just won't have it. Bottom line is, some people just have no respect for other peoples property (even though I do).

If you care about your car then dont listen to your wife complaining about walking or whatever... park your G AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM EVERYONE. I will post a pic in a few minutes to help motivate you. Some ****face in a suburban owned the **** out of my door. Its down to the paint and nasty. If i ever see that guy again around town its gonna get medieval.

I have always parked all of my cars in what I call the "Primo" parking spaces. When going out with my wife, I will usually drop her off first then hunt for a good place to park, if one is not available right away. Upon returning to the car, my wife can either walk with me or she can wait until I bring the car around.

There are a few times when I literally sit in my car when parked at a grocery or Walmart to observe others. I see the owner of the car next to me enter or exit there auto. I try to bring attention to myself to let the person know to be etra carefull. Sure enough, they or their kids hit my car with their doors anyway. WTF. Usually no damage, but still. With my G (2 weeks old), I find the optimum space or park at the boonies.

if you guys are truely worried, you can always give a vallet guy $5 and park it in their vallet section yourself. Vary rarely will a vallet guy turn down your money... It isn't a bulletproof plan, but it'll work well at certain places (the mall/movies/clubs) where there are a lot of morons.

it all depends on the type of person you really are...

i cherish the cars that i've owned and try and take good care of em. my previous car was a 94 integra, so even though it didnt cost much but, my hard earned money went into it and you best bet i took good care of her lol

so, my point is, some people dont give a rats-**** lol

Anyone who parks REALLY far away from everyone else, or takes up two or more spots is just asking for it. If your car is isolated, and away from everything else it is much more prone to vandalism.

I think the smartest way to park is any end spot, furthest away to the other spot as possible, yet not too far from everything else.. or if this is not possible, always park next to nicer cars since they wont hit your doors. Always park closer to the drivers side door if at all possible, since this way you are less likely to get a door ding since drivers opening their doors are more careful than the passengers.

Also, dont ever park next to SUVs. I've seen plenty of times where kids just swing open the doors without even looking and do some nasty door dings onto other cars next to them.

I usually only park on end spots, but not too far away as to leave my G isolated. It was the same way with my old Civic, 5 years old, not a single dent or scratch.

Talk about door ding. Less than a month after I got my G, my neighbor who parked next to me gave me two door dings. I tried to park as closed as my side, because I knew she always parked very closed to my space and giving me less space to park. They were all assigned parking you know. Talked to her first time and told her just be careful next time. Then, for the second ding (it was a real big one) I talked to her again. She denied it and told me it is the WAY she parks. She is not going to change. She also said if I have any problem I can report to apartment office period. I F*** her and she said her brother is a lawyer and she is going to sue me??? I told her I am going to sue her as well. Thing got bad. She called police and said I insulted her and disturbed her??? It was bad. Well, anyway, I told the cops what had happened to my car. They told me there is nothing they can do as they have no control for the private parking areas and there were no witnesses to see her dinging my car. Oh, well….I finally got my own house and moved. Trouble gone!!! For sure, there are some ppl don’t really care about your properties!!!

My buddy had the same problem. The person just said oh well and my buddy said "next time, I'll call the police and file a property damage report." Neighbor never ever dented his car again

Well...story didn't end while I was living there. I met her brother next day and he asked me did I insult his sister. I thought he was going to beat me or something. I told him not, but his sister insulted my car big time. Well, he didn't beat me. He was nice enough and told me his sister'll no long park next to me. Instead he would park next to me and giving me more space. He was trying to avoid any problem again. I thought cool. Well.....two months past...his sister came back and parked next to me again....and I wasn't happy...couple months later I moved....story end! Bad experience!

Oh. Well. One of my friend told me that be glad that something you can still fix. I understand sometime it is hard to accept some dents....but, well sh*** happen sometime....just move on with life!

I always park away from store or mall entrances in any type of parking lot being careful to take only one spot. I never worry about being too isolated. There are usually a few cars that you can park to or facing who are probably doing the same thing. I would rather take the chance of being isolated than being a dent target for so many careless people.
Besides the additional steps chew a few extra calories and lets me have that extra chocolate chip cookie.
