debadging
Re: debadging
Its SOO easy! My suggestion to you is this, take your car out and leave it facing the sun for a bit. Let it get hot to the touch, then simply pull the emblems off. Dental floss doesnt work for sh*t, too soft, but you can use a piece fishing line, and what you do with that is slide it behind the emblem so you can pull the emblem. It comes in handy for anyone who cant get their fat fingers into the edge of the emblem. Also I have seen people use small flat head screwdriverss as little crowbars to help get the emblems off, but this is a huge no no! Chances are you will slip and you'll end up scratching the hell out of your G's nice paint job. You shouldn't need to resort to such options. The heat gun or hair dryer is for anyone who wants to do this in a garage or on a over cast day where the sun is not. You simply heat up the emblem, and you'll start to notice as it gets hot, it will become more plyable, therefore it will slide off. Once you get the emblems off, use Goo Gone or WD40 to remove the sticky foam tape residue. Have a clean rag handy to keep that stuff from dripping everywhere. Also avoid and hard rubbing or wiping while you're trying to remove that stuff. If you do, you'll end up leaving swirl marks on your paint. In the event you do get some swirl marks or if you get the infamous "emblem outline", run out and get yourself some 3M Swirl Mark remover or similar product and apply it. It goes on and comes off like wax, and it will clean any fine marks right up.
The best advice I can give you is TAKE YOUR TIME! Do not rush, remove the emblems slowly, being sure not to bend or braek any. Soak up the sticky foam residue that will be left behind, and if you have too, use your finger nail, lightly to help scratch it away, but once again, do not rub or dig hard! Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Re: debadging
Well, the right stuff would be like 3M automotive grade tape, but I guess you're worried if one day you want to take it off, would it screw up the plastic... hmmmm, I guess it could...
What you want to do is use this stuff they sell at home depot or any other hardware store, that's a clear silicone, that's used to seal out air from leaking windows. I dont know what its called or who makes it, but Its in a long dark coloerd can and comes with a bunch of attachements on top. It comes out clear and dries clear. It will dry and stick like any other silicone out there, but what makes this stuff great is that you can peel it off anytime and it wont stain, leave a mark or screw anything up. The only drawback I can see is if someone where to accidently rub into into the emblem, and it would have to be a hard rub, it could pop off, but then you would simply reapply the stuff on to it and stick it back on. Thats your safest bet, otherwise if you're looking for a more perminant fix, use the 3M tape...
