Unhappy So close...

Almost got one today but we refused to accept the dealer's terms. Wanted an '05 AT G35c Athens Blue w/ Premium and Sport-Tuned packages for $36K +tax, tag, ext. They found one for us but it was out of state(they didn't tell use where). They wanted $2K non-refundable up front to go get it which was fine. Then they said it'd be 36 +etc if we financed with them or 36.8 +etc if we used our own financier. So we walked on them. (We'd been there 2.5hrs at this point 2 of which were spent waiting) The sales manager even ran out to meet us as we were driving of but he wouldn't budge on the offer. Oh well...another day, another dealership.

Don't back down!
Shopping for a new car is SUCH a chore.

"Come on in! We've got it!"
*vroom vroom you get over there*
"Oh, we don't have it anymore...."
(let the games begin)

I hope u ran over that Sales Manager.
He had the gall to run out after playing around with you?

Sorry they dicked you around.

I hate negotiating the purchase of a car. As long as I am not getting ripped off, I will buy it. I am not one to drive to every dealer in town or to shop around for months trying to save $1000. Again, as long as I am paying what everone else is paying I am happy with that. Time is money. If I waste time trying to save $1000, I would have lost $1000 by wasting my time anyway.

Good Luck!

You did the right thing. They're asking for too much $$. I bought mine a month ago with Prem, Sport, Aero, Splash Guards and Trunk Mat for $35,500. I asked them what their bottom dollar price was and that's what they told me the first time. I bought the car a few days later and it was the easiest buying experience I've ever had with a car.

The money isn't an issue and we told them that was we were leaving. It was just the principle of the matter and how they treated us. At least we got another test drive out of it.
