My clearbra installer used Speed Clay, but I claybarred it the day before anyways so I can't really say how well it works.

I cannot imagine how you could spend an hour plus claying a vehicle. The majority of fallout and contaminents should be found on your horizontal surfaces. Spray, glide, fold the clay and continue. This process takes me 15 minutes as mentioned in another post and I do a very thorough job.

I think there are 2 manufacturers of clay bar compound, so they are all pretty much the same.

Claying has been discussed alot in the detailing forum. I wouldn't use the Porter Cable to do it since your are supposed to clay in straightline motions, not circular or "irregular" patterns.

It should take longer than about 15 minutes to do the horizontal surfaces, and maybe 30 minutes to do the whole car.

If you aren't willing to spend that much time on making your car look good, then you probably aren't serious about it anyway.......

I agree. It really doesn't take very long, especially after you've done it previously. I would never use a polisher to clay because you need to "feel" the surface. If you're getting resistance while claying then you need to go over that spot again until the resistance is gone. Just make sure to use a light hand and glide over the surface.

I seriously dont see how you can spend 15 min claying the car. I put money on it that it takes much longer then that.

If you do it once per year it should at least take close to 45min - 1hr. I try to do it every few months and even then, i have to spend a good 30-45min. May be its because i'm in the city area with a lot of road grime and polution.

Also if you want to get the best results, glaze the car and then wax it. Glazing gives it incredible shine.
