I think they should have a Kit upgrade....
believe it or not, I'm the orignal Michael Knight and I really miss kit.
unfortunately ... he was killed when we were in nam together.
the recent nam of course.
yah... and maybe thicker paint with burnt orange interior as a option.

Horn beep lock thing... hold the lock and unlock button on the transmitter for 3 seconds, and the car will chirp at you. This toggles it between two modes, one with the horn and one without. The without mode only flashes the lights when you lock the car, not when you unlock them.

Oh, and JDMan, the G was marketed as a Bimmer beater because it clearly competes with BMW - but that doesn't mean it has to out-BMW a BMW. The G was designed from a different angle - more of a sports car first, luxury car second mentality. The BMW tries to strike a compromise between the two.
They can and do compete with each other without having the same design premise.

Re: Dear Infiniti, I think you should...
I agree with many comments already made here. I would only add:
- An all-weather performance tire option on the 6MT instead of Summer-only tires.
- Move the "Auto" headlight control position to the first notch (Auto->Off->Park->On). It's hard on the HIDs the way it is when switching everything totally off from the On position.
- Reorient the center stack control layout. It's obvious everything was designed for the right-hand drive Japanese market. (I also agree with ***** over buttons for stereo.)
- A few more exterior colors, including a deep rich metallic Red (a couple shades off the Z's "Brickyard" would be nice).
I second the need for more interior lights and seat memory. Also, definitely move the seat controls. Nice idea in theory, but it's causing too many people hip discomfort (including me).
I would not be in favor of adding too many more motorized automatic "luxury" features that just add weight. That kind of stuff adds up, and the car is heavy enough as it is. I wouldn't want to see it just get more bloated and expensive, yet slower and heavier handling. That's what helped kill the Z car line in the US the first time around.
It's hard to complain about the car overall, though. So many things to love!

Re: Dear Infiniti, I think you should...
A lot of really good posts in this thread. I hope the Infiniti execs frequent this site and take the time to read our discussions. There is no better group to constructively criticise the G35 Coupe than a bunch of people who've already plunked down their $40k and are driving the car every day.
If nothing else, Infiniti should be gratified that all the gripes are really minor stuff. Overall, owners seem to really love this car...and why not?
