Actually, that would be the revised '05 clutch, not the tranny. I think Infiniti even admitted that the '05 clutch has been revised. I had the part numbers for the tranny, flywheel and clutch, all of which have been revised from what came stock on the '03/04 6mts. They could very well give him an older tranny, but put in the revised clutch. The only way to know for sure is to ask for part numbers or look on the invoice afterwards.

Then you would know by depressing your clutch pedal...VERY big difference between 03/04 and 05 in terms of softness and engagement.

I would've known if I didn't opt for the lighter flywheel, which kinda takes some getting used to. However, I did notice that the clutch did feel lighter when I first got the car back.

Yes if i dont pause for a split second in between 1st and 2nd ... if i try to shift quickly it grinds every time and i know i am shifting properly i let a lot of my friens try and the same thing happens when they drive as well ... i only have about 6800 miles on my car.

take it in...play dumb. Say the car grinds in 1st to 2nd gear change. I had other people drive it and it happens for them too. Then tell him to drive it. Then once in the car then tell him it's at redline Don't tell him before, because he'll prob tell you it's too fast and say no. If he can replicate it then you have a better shot.

I GOT MY NEW TRANNY!!!!

Transmission 32010-CD0008
Disc assy clutch 30100-cd0019

Transmission replacement approved by infiniti claims center on 9/12/05

So my first experiences...clutch is WAY softer than before. So soft, that I had some trouble driving it at the begining. The clutch also seems to engage higher. The notchyness is less but it's still there. Feels much smoother though.

Only thing is...performance seems to have fallen. But that might be because of the ECU reset.

Which Discover Infiniti did you take it to, Kearny Mesa or Escondido?

kearny

Service tech was Dave. Good guy. Even told me to get the z-tube and pop charger intake instead of the Injen because of the AC line damages. Always good to have mod friendly SA's.
