New car Cherry was popped this morning

I bought a 2005 G35c 6MT two weeks ago (1000 miles). This morning on my commute to work I was merging onto 295 and a semi loaded with bricks in the right lane started to lose his load. I was successful in dodging 6-7 bricks but one got me and put a nice gash in the hood . I managed to pull the trucker over and got all his information.....now the hard part. I am soooo frigging pissed.

I almost drove my 1991 Honda Civic to work this morning... Always follow the gut.

Here are a few pictures

Just be happy you're okay and that you're alive to tell the story. A brick through the windshield into YOUR grill would be far more serious.

As stated - this is an easy fix. Count your blessings:

1 - you weren't hurt
2 - damage is really minimal (but admittedly painful to look at)
3 - you got all the information from the driver at fault

It could have been a lot worse, although I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

Definitely sorry to hear about that. I've been wary of going near or behind any trucks carrying anything. I'm just curious...how did you manage to pull over the truck? Honking the horn? It might be useful if something happens to me if I could learn your technique.

I hate trucks! They always throw rocks and drop crap. I can't even count the number of windshields lost to truck.

Yes, be very glad nothing mroe was done than a dent in your hood. I know its painful to look at but there was an incident here in NC about a month ago where a rock well off an overloaded truck, went through the driver's windshield, banged her up pretty good and she died a few days later in the hospital.

Watch those trucks out there guys, there's big brew-ha-ha out here right now over regulating those haulers.

Last week on my Turbo S Beetle I hit one of those tire retreads in the road heading on I45 in Houston. About $3000 in damage, thank god my airbags did not go off.

*ooof* >< Sorry to hear that, man. I'd consider bricks hitting the hood, at highway speeds, to be a close call. As mentioned, could have been a lot worse. Still, my sympathies!

You were very lucky indeed.......But at least you had him pull over, so you won't have to go through your insurance.....
They will have your car looking good as new in no time.....
Best of Luck
