"Super lease" need help G35 Coupe

To all G35 coupe owners, I just became a owner myself 7 days ago and I simply love this amazing automobile. 1 week ago when I was trading in my use car are worth $12,000 the Sales manager of my infiniti dealership offer me a lease of $10,000 back from my trade, meaning total drive off of $2,000 48months lease 12K miles per year $436.00 per month + tax, with a written $17,085 residual value in 4 years on a MSRP $34785 G35 coupe auto, premium, sat, mud guards. Was this posible, but of course I have my skeptical older brother with me and he told me just to buy it at 3.99% for 60 months because I have pretty good credit. We took the buy because we were told that the bank needed about 2-3 weeks to cut us a check for $10,000 for our trade. I was wondering if everyone thinks that I made the right decision with the purchase instead of a lease. Happy motoring everyone !!!!!!!!!

YES, great choice to Buy. I have never been a fan of leasing because of the milage, sometimes poorly estimated risidual, plus you cant do any mods!

3.99% Wow. I have excellent credit too, and got 4.69%
Great, dude.

Yeah, you did well. That 2-3 week thing to cut the check on your trade sounds fishy to me - something not right with that. You made the right decision.

buy over lease is better in the vast majaority of scenarios. Thats why dealers push the lease deals SOOO hard. Its far more profitable for THEM. After all, they'll get the car back and get to make profit on it all over again. You did good.

sounds like you did fine. biggest if was the wait for your check.

leases are good for people who can stay within mileage, want new car every 3-4 years (depending on term).

i am completing my second straight lease. first one was when i had no $ to put down on a car.

i am debating leasing my G35c6mt. i typically get bored of the car before the 3 yrs is up. although i doubt i'll tire of the G.

$ wise, if you take out back to back, 3 yr leases of similar cars, you would have paid it off in 5 yrs and had equity, as opposed to 6 yrs and own nothing.

No way you'll hold your miles under 12K a year if you drive this car at all, and believe me....you WILL drive this car!!!!!!! Just turned in 2 99 Camry's at the same time that we leased and ALL the money I saved on the lease just went right out the window on mileage overages.....I WILL NEVER LEASE AGAIN.....

Re: "Super lease" need help G35 Coupe

it all depends on your driving.
i turned in one car 6k under mileage and my current car is also under.

i've also read about some people who won't drive their G all winter.

I can get the speedos returned to stock(if you know what I mean) On any digital. That includes reprogramming the ECM and cluster and keys on certain models. So that would be a big f-you to all the dealers leasing 12k lease deals and assuming you will be paying a ton of overmilage payments. Shock them when you turn in a lease after 3 years with 20k on the clock! Just a thought................

You definitely did the right thing! Your rate is awesome. Additionally, not only are leases a big loser if you keep the car longer for 3 to 4 years, the G35 tends to have higher monthly lease payments than say Bimmers that have a higher sticker. There was a post on this issue on freshalloy.com.
