The Best Trans Am ever was in all black, was bullet proof, had a turbo button that made it go 0-1000 mph in 3 secs, had cool red lights like the Cylons, and can drive for you and keep you company!

Not on a domestic.

Try going to a dealer and see if they offer you that much for a trade-in. I think that you're in for a surprise. I don't care what the "book" says, I'm talking real life. The fact of the matter is that the dealer needs to turn that car around and sell it. Do you think that someone's going to buy a used car that's priced only a couple thousand less than the same new one? Not likely. That's another reason why it's always better to sell your car rather than trade it in.

In general, domestics don't hold their value as well as imports but all new cars lose a lot of value as soon as they're driven off the lot. $7k is a little excessive but that really depends on the dealer where he traded it in. They probably gave him wholesale price since it wasn't a Pontiac dealer. In that case, they often turn around and just sell the car to a local Pontiac dealer instead of trying to sell it themselves.

Have you ever even been inside of a GTO? I'm guessing that the answer is no. While I don't necessarily like the exterior of the GTO, the interior is made very well and I'd rank it as equivalent to the interior of my G35. I liked it a lot. I've seen some modified GTOs and they're pretty mean. I'd take a GTO over a Civic any day, but I'm a muscle car kind of guy.

I have been to dealers and I'm positive you are not going to lose $7K for a car that was originally worth $32K after 900 miles. I'm not saying that it can't happen but that is alot, even for domestic cars! Anyway, I got my figure off of the Kelly bluebook value website. From what I've seen, the dealers aren't going to charge (pay) too far from that figure. Anywho, I guess if you want the GTO, prepare to lose $$$$ on trade-in.

For the Trans-Am, watch the TV Series when he hits the Turbo button, I'm serious when I say it shows 0 to 1000 mpg in 3 secs! Oh, and don't forget the Mechanic! She was one hot babe, both of them! I believe the changed her after a few seasons.

I'm selling my wifes '98 Beetle and my old 4X4 Suburban to make room. I've read the Magnum does the 1/4 in the mid 13's , so that should be fun when the new baby is not in it.

Ummmm....is it just my area or is gas going up all over the country? An SRT8 or a v8 gto? That's some serious dough for gas. That should only add to the resale on those beasts.

Are you kidding me? If you don't have buyers remorse on that purchase you are nutz. A Pontiac? I would not own a Pontiac if it was given to me.

Have fun with it because after 7,000 miles that thing is going to drive like a POS. The rattles come at 5k and the engine should drop out around 10k.

Sorry to hear about your new purchase.
