You have a ton of money into your car, you can buy a new GTO for high 20s with 400 hp. for around 30 grand he will have over 500 hp in mods if he wants. But that said i'd rather own a G35. The GTO looks like crap, I almost bought one for the motor alone but I bought my 05 sedan instead, the looks killed the deal, it does not look better in person.

I have had my G for almost 3 years (december) and every time I walk past it in the garage I say to myself; "damn".

That's why I drive a G!

If I were wanting cheap American performance, I would get a brand new Mustang GT and mod the hell out of it. Looks 10x better than the GTO.

Talk about an easy car to get horsepower out of with mods......

You got that right. Go FI and you'd think the same thing while driving her too.

And for what its worth, I did drive a Camaro for 8 years and lemme tell you while its nice to have the low end power of those engines, I wouldn't trade my G, or any import I may own, for another domestic. Maybe I just had a bad experience with GM, but I'm not going through that again.

If this is going to be such a RARE car.......keep it for 20-30 years and let's see if the value goes up or down.

My guess........WAY DOWN.

Wow, I can buy a preowned NSX for around $40K drop in a comptech supercharger and still outrun you at the light. Book it.

To get an NSX for $40k, you would have to get a 1997/1998 model. Almost a 9 year old model!!! Kinda risky don't you think? A partner at the firm had an NSX and loved it but maintaince was outrageously expensive.

I don't think this thread was meant to be a pissing contest. Get what you want relative to what you can afford. If the GTO makes you happy, great, you have a solid performance vehicle for a good value. Just styling lacked something for me. Do understand your residual value will be nowhere near the G. Me, personally, felt much more inclined to get a brand new G and have less performance. Of oucrse, I went FI to cure that little problem and now I am as happy as can be. Moral of the post....get what you want and be happy. There will always be someone with something newer, faster, better, quicker, more expensive, etc. Just enjoy what you got....

With that said...enjoy the ride and don't be shy bout dropping back by the Driver and letting us know how it goes....

jesus. give the guy a break. he was simply saying farewell to us in a very polite, non-threatening way, and you all react like a bunch of spiteful bitches with your wee ***** in a sling. for shame!

Inf4life, great choice on the GTO. dare to be different, bro. it's a solid ride. no complaints from me on the engine, but if the shell looked a little more like its Aussie counterpart (granted, a more expensive big brother), the 2004 HSV Coupe 4 AWD, people on this forum would be singin' a different tune.

Hey, that doesn't look half bad. Although, the rear taillights and rear wing/spoiler isn't doing it for me. Otherwise, not too shabby.
