350Z owners.. anyone notice?
.. I'm not really trying to start something here (OK, well maybe), but at least in my area (Chicago) it seems every 350Z driver I've encountered gives me the smug look like "Your car is crap compared to mine". Maybe I'm over-analyzing, yea 350Z has, what, 7 more HP and yes lighter (thereby overall faster), but do those morons understand we have a backseat and a trunk that is somewhat functional? Not to mention quite a bit more 'luxury' items.
I'm just getting kinda perturbed - I view the 350Z as one of us w/o a back seat and a little less luxury - however most 350Z owners think their car is in a league of their own, nowhere near the G35C.
Just my 2 cents. Or 7 HP.

I think a great deal of 350Z owners respect the G, at least where I live they do. I came across a beautiful burgandy colored one, and the guy made sure to get right up next to me on the freeway and gave me the "shaka" sign. Can you tell where I live?

I've seen on z forums where they complain about jerk G owners, so i guess it goes both ways. It is kinda funny though to hear them say how they smoke G's, and how it's not even close when they race. That's funny. They also try to pass the argument that a car isn't a sports car if it has more than 2 seats. And that's stupid. But i respect the Z alot, i respect a lot of cars. But, yah, it's stupid when Z owners hate on the G.

True sports cars only have 2 seats? Yeah...guess that M3's just a family sedan.
Sounds like they're grasping for straws.
Both cars are awesome. I've given and recieved thumbs-up from Z owners in my area, and I think there's a mutual respect...as there should be.

I think it's because they think we G people are driving dilluted versions of their car. Cuz we've got lower performance numbers on paper and heavier and have that back seat thus not worthy of being compared to them since they have a true "sports car" I think they got it all a$$ backwards on how they see things though since THEY are the ones who have the 3200lb 2 seater sports car. HAH what a joke. If nissan wanted the Z to kick a$$ they shouldn't have built it on a platform meant to fit a sedan and would have given the Z it's own and had it weigh like 2700 lbs. Of course that would mean more cost to Nissan and that's why THEY are the ones driving the compromised car not us. We got ourselves a nice pimpin pure GT coupe not no wannabe hardcore sportscar!

I have had pretty much all the Z's from 240-350Z and I love the G's
I think the father or Z's and Nissan Datsun,Mr Katayama puts how I feel perfectly about this with this quote
Love Cars, Love People, Love Life -Yukata Katayama
So lets just have fun and enjoy our cars
we're all enthusiasts and thats all that matters

Acutally, hate to burst everyone's bubble, but a true sportscar does in fact only have 2 seats! The M3 is also, not a sportscar. The M3, like our G35's, are actually sporrts coupes, along with the likes of Firebirds, Cameros and yes, Mustangs. True sports cars are your Z's, Covettes, Vipers and what not. There are a few cars that may be gray areas, but 99% of the time, this is true. The 3 main rules for a sports cars are:
1. 2 Seater only
2. RWD
3. Can't quite remember, but I think it's lightweight.
Sportscars aren't ALL about pure speed. Its more about fun and overall performance. You know that a couple years back, the Miata, took credit for the most successful sports car in history!?!?! You may or may not like it, but this is the standard, and what ALL the magazines go by.

Kdog, Keep smilin' and waivin' bro, usually it comes back at ya, even from some unexpected places (Beemers, Volvos, S2k's, Type S's). Yes all these rides have acknowledged and smiled at mine, (including most G & Z drivers of course.) I've had a few that look and stick their nose in the air, but I figure they're antisocial types anyway and not the norm.

You guys crack me up, have we nothing better to do than to troll the outside world to see who's looking at our car's, are we that vain? The Z is that slightly different child from the same family that happens to have a we bit better athletic gift in a smaller less attractive package. And the Z owner's that bought their car's for this might not look at you in awe. Get over it, who care's.

I don't think it's a matter of, making sure that the G is a better car or not. It's just expressing supprise that someone with such a similar car could express so much hate to the G. And as I've noted, it goes the other way around sometimes too.
One point. There is no one true definition of a sports car. A few posts have already proved the "2-seat" rule wrong. That's as inane as saying a true sports car has to be painter either red, yellow or maybe black.

Re: 350Z owners.. anyone notice?
i dont know who said it but some one said the Z is faster then the G well from i belive car and driver they had a 0-60 time faster then the Z's. So any Z driver who say that they can smoke a G is compleatly wrong it is 100% a drivers race. I think they are mad cuz they got 7 hp and we got a back seat better tecnology better servise department and much better style all for about the same price.
