ECU reset

I tried the methods listed in the FAQ section. Ingintion -ON position. Push pedal fully 5x in 5 secs, etc. No matter how many times I try the CEL never starts blinking. I've done everything exactly how described and it never works. I guess I'm doomed to wipe my memory settings. Does the NAV system also get affected by resetting the ECU via the battery?

Re: ECU reset

Sexxay, Don't feel bad bro. It's not the easiest procedure to make work. Two of the reasons you may be having difficulty with that procedure are 1/ the accelerator release position isn't set correctly and 2/ The throttle valve closed position isn't set correctly.
In the Easy ECU reset thread, you'll notice some more procedures covering these 2 steps.
Once the throttle valve and accelerator pedal have been set, then you may be more successful with the ECU reset.
BTW, I'm just the middle man here telling you what's in the ESM. As strange and as difficult as it seems, these are proper proceedures as outlined in the ESM, and I believe they do work.
You do have an alternative tho: just unplug the battery for 12 hrs. (that's in the ESM too) to accomplish the same results. The difference in this tho is that you'll lose your radio presets, your odometer trip meters will go to zero, and your navi average mpg will go to ****. (all other data will not be affected)
