"was I justified with my response?"
Hell yes! Anyone who has the time to post to a Forum, should be able to do a simple search on Yahoo for "CLK320 0-60". Took me 5 seconds and got an answer with the first hit.
Lazy people deserve to be slapped.

Mercedes doesn’t offer a manual gearbox because they have perfected the auto tranny.

I'm not arguing this point at all.
I was merely pointing out that some (such as myself) much prefer to drive a manual trans car - if the G35C didn't have one available, I probably would not have even considered buying one.
Just personal opinion, but call it a sports car, GT, 2+2, whatever... a car of that nature needs to have a manual transmission in it... though I'd probably make an exception if someone offered me an SL500 / SL600 for free.

Re: G35sc vs. Benz CLK320
just a thought ... do you guys think that manual transmitions are going to be around fo ever? i dont think so, with such advances in the technology manuals will diminish even in the sports cars. What are those hard core manual guys gonna drive in 2015 their 03 G's ? haha. I am driving a automatic G and I am not trying to say its better/faster or whatever, because it isnt. I chosed it because it fitted my daily commute better. And I am sue i can smoke a buch of unexperienced manual drivers. So yea im a girl and i am afraid to drive a real mans car, meaning a stick shift.
By the way I am not trying to offend anybody here

Well, maybe not forever, but while we're using internal combustion engines in cars, yes. No idea what kind of trans you'd have in a car with a fuel cell, for instance... But while we're still using fossil fuels, there's gonna be manual transmissions out there - there's too large a demand for them from serious racers, off-roaders, and plain old driving enthusiasts for them to die out completely. Heh... 2015 is only 12 years away... I guarantee that there's still gonna be manuals out there then. But I'd be interested to see what the G35 (if it still exists) looks like in 2015!

Oh, wow... that's just begging for a response... but I'll just leave it alone, and let someone else get crude!

Re: G35sc vs. Benz CLK320
well the quality of build and material in a merecdes will definately top out the infiniti. (not talking about the C class) You do get what you pay for but wether or not the extra couple grands justifies the extra you get is another story.
if money aren't a problem I'd take clk500 over g35.

Re: G35sc vs. Benz CLK320
May I just state that you guys are wrong beyond belief on the "Mercedes has no manual transmission cars" topic. Mercedes DOES offer manual transmission for SOME of its cars: C230 Coupe, C320 Coupe, C230 Sedan, C240 Sedan (w/ or w/o 4Matic), C320 Sedan (w/ or w/o 4Matic), SLK230, SLK320.
As for the future of manual transmissions, it is predicted that manual transmission will be extinct in 10 years, and the CVT automatic transmission will be the replacement. I don't think this is completely true though, as it seems that manual transmission is coming back. Lots of sport sedans/sports cars are really stressing the manual gearbox by offering 6-speed manuals instead of 5-speed (or sometimes just offering the manual transmission in general, such as the case of the G35 Sedan).

Show me. I've looked through MB's site and found no such evidence of a manual trans as even an option on ANY Mecedes-Benz. Not one. Further, in Motor Trend's COTY writeup, they noted specifically that Mercedes does not offer manual transmissions on ANY of it's vehicles. I'd like to believe you, but personally, barring proof, I'd rather believe Motor Trend than you. No offense, but your "statement of fact" doesn't carry nearly the weight in my eyes as that of a major magazine's. I'd like to be proven wrong, but I'm guessing you won't be able to - and mind you ,we're talking North American Market here, not grey-market cars.
