After Break-in

Well I got my 05 G35 at in Aug. 1st
I wonder if I did good on Break-in things
Mostly Driven in the city(city/highway 70/30), 2 times highway(500mil, 250mil)
During the break-in period, I drove over 4000RPM a couple of times for 5-10min in the highway and that was it. but mostly drove around 3000-4000RPM

Last week my G just passed 2000mil and I start speeding up with higher RPM.
Now it's 2200mil and got 15-16MPG.

1. Did I do good on Break-in period?
2. Today someone told me I need to use MT. is it necessary?
3. What's the next thing I gotta do?
4. How about RPM after break-in period?

I know these are stupid questions.
but I don't know well about car things.... please help me~

I did my first oil change at some 1600 miles. It was a personal preference type thing.

You should be fine. I didn't go WOT until some 3000 miles. I just simply incrementally increased the rpm up till 3000 miles.

Well, I did WOT about 3000 here myself. Although, at about 2000 miles, I went to Santa Barbara from L.A. and mostly got about ~25 mpg. Not to bad.

i hit redline after 1200 miles i think (after 1st oil change @ 1200 miles)
how do you use MT? do you own AT or MT? did you mean MM?
i am confused; break-in period is 1200 miles i think and since you have like...2200miles you are set to kill some b!tches

I am just curious if I need to use MM for better G.

well what i did was...
ok here's my story.
this is my first car i ever own in my entire life and had no clue on how to use this rev match MM (shifting and crap) so basically, i drove w/o using any MM til i broke in, 1200 miles
after that i learned how to use MM.
RPM is the only thing you should worry about thruout the break-in period.
IMO, it doesnt really matter rather you use MM or full auto to break in.
i constantly pushed my car every 200 miles or so...3000,4000,5000,6000...etc
i use MM daily just for a fun factor.
lazy people just put it in full auto, up to you.

Just passed the brake in period. Not going to bother changing the oil, since the manual didn't say too after break in

u breaked it in too long... shoulda just step on the gas and go hit that red line after u get outta the dealer..

not kiddin..altho its personal preferance. u can do the recommanded 1500 or whatever mile break in, or just drive it like u stole it the first thing outta the dealer!

eitherway, have a great debate on this in many forums and threads.. but since u already over that "break in" period, just WOT all the time..haha. have fun man!

peace

You did well, MP, just the way I break my rides in.

Use Manual mode when you feel familiar with it and comfortable to do so. Read up on its uses and functions in the owner's manual first.
Their is no "need" to use it, just use it when you please.

With 2k miles, you can either change your oil early (some do, including myself) or leave it for the scheduled change at about 4k.

After initial break-in of 1200 miles, you may want to continue to break in the engine by not driving at constant speeds for long periods, and by gradually revving to higher levels including redline. It won't hurt, and will benefit the engine.
Full 'break-in' can take 10k-20k miles, but should not restrict you from having some 'fun'.

Enjoy
C.
