Gotta vent (some complaints)
You have some strong muscles then, being able to take off the 5 badge from just a microfiber. It took me a blow dryer and fishing line to take off those badges.
The scratch your talking about is definitelly not from any towel, thats not just a simpe swirl mark its dug deep into your paint all the way to your primer. it was most likely cause by something else, but for sure not the mit.

You know I think people are just skimming when they read.

OK now I know there are a lot of people who dig the debadging thing but now I wish Infiniti had went with something stronger to keep the letters on. When I wash the car the mitt catches on every letter. But this time I'm going over the "G35" part and when I pull away the 5 is in my mitt. So of course I'm freaking and immediately stick it back on. It appears to be holding but I'm kind of upset that these things can be pulled off with so little effort (in my opinon it's little effort).

I didn't pull the badge off with my fingers or my hand. The mitt is mad up of a bunch of loops. As you are washing the loops catch on the corners of the car. They also catch underneath the badges. So as you are washing over the back end of the car and over the badges one or more loops. I've caught these loops on the badges and pulled them out.
Check out the pics.......

I wonder if you could have drug that "5" around on the finish before you noticed it was stuck to the mit.
And yes, that mit sucks, as you've found. Now for my infamous repsonse:
Use only 100% USA Grown Cotton and MADE-IN-THE-USA towels. Both are essential. Stay away from anything made anywhere else and don't even look at Egyptian Cotton or it will F your finish up. Still not a single scratch from my good towels to date. I use Wamsutta, but check the tags as they also offer Egyptian Cotton. You'll feel the difference right off the shelf. Cut off the embroidered ends, etc.
Unfortunately, you have a lot of work to get those scratches and swirls out before you'll ever notice that the good towels aren't putting any scratches into the finish. If you had used good towels from the start, you would already swear by them after seeing no scratches/swirls develop. But you do have to keep them clean of debris, just like any other towel.

I get scratches all the time (i.e. hood scratches on a black car), plus I think the rear looks better without the "G35" label on it. Be optimistic about your situation. Just think of it as a mod in "debadging" your car.
