Is my car an '04 or an '04.5?

Is there a quick way to tell if mine is considered an 04.5? I am curious to know if I have the upgraded springs/suspension or if it has the older spring rates.

I tried a search, but it doesn't work by typing 04.5, etc. Thanks!

Mike

Check the last 6 numbers of your VIN, if greater than 800,000, you have an 04.5.

FYI, all 04's have the same suspension.

Yeah but what about 04.25's, are they same too?

Thanks for the info - looks like I have a 04.5! Are you sure the suspension is the same for all 04 and 04.5 cars? I have read many, many threads stating that the 04.5 cars started using the 427 rear spring rates.

I'm 100% sure. The 04.5 Z's have a revised suspension from the 03's and early 04's. The G suspension was not revised until 05'.

There are some real jokers around here

Infact my G is an 04.93

I just missed the revised suspension and OE 19's but at least I got the Brembo's.

I think another difference is the shift ****...but you could only tell if your an auto. The 04 shares the auto shift **** with the 03, with the gear shift button on the side....while the 04.5 has the gear shift button towards the front of shifter. Thats the only difference i could think of.

Vin

807,0xx, yaaaaaaaaaay I'm an '04.5. It says my car was made in March 2004. Hmmm. I do have the brembos too, although I just called infiniti for the price on the pads, and they said 180 for front and 160 for the rears. Great.

Don't waste your money going to a dealership for your pads. You can get front and rear OEM pads for about 210-220 or aftermarket pads such as Hawk HPS pads for about 170. Here's an example vendor: http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...33a6033cc15b2f
