You can find those black clips at autoparts stores and sometimes hardware stores as well. They come in various sizes.

when I installed mine ('05) they are the same as the ones used all over the car. So I think your dealer is being L A Z Y.
When I went to my dealer to order the factory trunk mat they required the VIN. "LAZY parts counter worker did not want to look up the part."

I've still got some from projects on a previous car. The bag indicates I got them at NAPA. I'd try other places first. NAPA always has the hard-to-find stuff, but they really make you pay for it!

Every part on your car has a number associated with it. Sometimes the parts guys are lazy and act like they cant get them. I have also had great parts workers that went the extra mile and found old parts for older cars and even did searches for me. On some smaller parts sometimes you have to buy a pack of them. Considering that their are probabally a hundred retainers like that on the G, I highly doubt that the dealer cannot get them for you. I would think they would stock that part since I bet during all the service they do they must break/lose a few every week.

True. I wouldn't even call it the install package. If you've got a busted up one even, take that to the parts department or to an autoparts store.

FWIW, I bought a couple of different sizes for that previous project. One bad indicated they were "Plastic Fender Rivets/Fasteners" for a '77 or '79 Datsun. No idea what model they were for, but it just goes to show you that they are readily available for a variety of vehicles. They're all pretty much the same, with the exception of the size (to fit in the hole properly).
