Agreed, I have Formula 1 tint all around w/Nav. and it works fine if you do not get the reflective tint.

The metal will either trap the signal from your navi, or keep it from recieving (don't remember which) kind of like how the signal's distance from your key fob of your alarm is reduced when you install the alarm under the metal of your car, etc...

I can't say definitively whether or not metallic based tint would or would not cause a problem, but I can understand how it might.
Personally, I would avoid dye based tint. It does a poor job of really keeping out heat and UV.
I went with the Huper Optik ceramic tint, and it works unbelievably well. The downside is that it's definitely pricey, and even after 2 months, I'm still having some issues with the way it set (or didn't set, for that matter). But from a performance standpoint, it does a better job of reducing heat than any other tint I've experienced.
