My 2 week old 06' 6MT does not have a nav or tint; however, the Beamer which I traded in had darkk tint and nav. The nav was flawless.

I suggest taking the car to a different tint shop who will warranty the nav reception.

Agreed, I have Formula 1 tint all around w/Nav. and it works fine if you do not get the reflective tint.

Check www.thetintpros.com and give them a call.

I have 52% charcoal on the windshield, 28% metallic fronts and 19% metallic rears.

No issues.

I can't say definitively whether or not metallic based tint would or would not cause a problem, but I can understand how it might.
Personally, I would avoid dye based tint. It does a poor job of really keeping out heat and UV.
I went with the Huper Optik ceramic tint, and it works unbelievably well. The downside is that it's definitely pricey, and even after 2 months, I'm still having some issues with the way it set (or didn't set, for that matter). But from a performance standpoint, it does a better job of reducing heat than any other tint I've experienced.
