Door ding is it worth it ??

I need thoughts on body side molding. Picked up my DG coupe 3 weeks ago. Every time I walk up to open the door I examine the door surface, waiting for the day I find that inevitable ding. I saw a similar car at the dealer with the molding and it didn't look bad. I'm wondering if I should have the dealer add this to my car or pay the $75.00 or so for paintless dent repair. I don't see G-coupes with molding (except that one at the dealer). I'm interested in your thoughts and pictures of cars with body side molding.

I think the mouldigs definitely ruin the body lines. PDR does work quite well, worth the $70. I would just be careful where you park and forego the mldgs for the aesthetics.

I agree the dings are gonna happen - front, doors, rear - regardless of your molding. I just do what I can to not park where it's likely to get nipped, and when it inevitably does i'll do what i can (PDR) to fix it.

those moldings imo are worthless. if all cars swung doors at the same
height, maybe...but still, that molding is going to just bend and the dent
will be under the molding. now you have to do PDR + get a new molding
or remove the molding on the other side.

in my case, i do PDR myself so i just fix it on my own for free.

This is magnetic. I can throw it on as needed

but I also keep a set of these in the trunk. No, they dont look great. I use them only when I have to, which is very rare. Like a hotel were there was only one parking space left for a 1/4 mile in any direction, but nonetheless, they have helped.

I agree ^

JMHO but those mag strips will promote scatches
from trapped grime in between.

PDR is definitely worth the money...

I had my first one removed the next day for $50. It was on my front driver's side fender. I can't stand people who ding other people's rides. I know it's inevitable but it's just a matter of courtesy.

Those body moldings are fugly.

IMHO the mouldings look like crap and I don't think they are very effective in most cases. Park far-far away, and PDR if you have to. My .2

ur gona get jacked lol.. especially here if u have a mag molding -__-

to give u an idea of how useless the moldings are.. it wont even protect u from another G35.. just dont get it.. ur only way is to park far and in corners..

my top 5 worst places to park
1. bank
2. gym
3. school
4. around asian people
5. Resturants
