OMG! your car lost around 20whp..




lol jk. i know a few people who "run the crap" out of there cars when they first get it. in todays age all the engines, and esp. the VQ are highly engineered and tested. so its already "broken in" when you drive it. driving under 4krpm doesn't do much, but i suppose it will make you feel better psychologically. and if it does harm your engine, do you plan to keep your car for more than 200,000+ miles?

There's alot of posts on this web site regarding this. Some say baby it for x number of miles etc and the other side says drive it hard to set the rings etc. Either way, very few have had any problems and have enjoyed running the rpms up high! Drive it like you stole it!

 

rings set in within the first 15 min of runtime (which is what they do from the factory). Although compression does go up slightly within the next 1000 miles or so

 

trade it as fast as you can.
