Driver side window leaking at a touch free car wash

The other day I went to get a car wash to get all of the dirt and salt off of my coupe, being from Minnesota this is a must on a regular basis (sorry, I refuse to store a vehicle, unless its a dedicated race car...and no, moving is not an option). Temps were around 36...which for us this time of the year isn't all that bad. But as the touch free wash passed the drivers side door, a noticeable amount of water came in through the rear upper corner of the window. I've also hand washed the car with a power washer and had no issue...so I think it partially has to do with the amount of pressure that this particular wash had. But I've also noticed a slight howl or whistle noise coming from the same area. Anyone else seen or heard this same issue...and what was the fix? I assume that the rubber trim needs replacing in this instance. But, on my last G I also had a problem with door alignment that caused some needless damage (something that should have been adjusted from the factory...or at least at the dealer...and not 9 months after my owning the vehicle).

My car's only 6 months old and I remember having this problem the first time I hand washed my ryde. Sounds to me that it's just the foam insulation that's not properly sealing the window when closed. You COULD take it back to the dealer and have them fix/replace whatever it's causing it but they might just look at you funny.

Ya, you're right. They just looked at me funny when I asked if they could change out the foam strip. But ya, I have the same problem, only with super high pressure though.

Either the window is out of adjustment, or it's not seating properly after the door is closed, or the rubber seal is mis-aligned or worn out.

I'm in MN myself and I understand your need to have it rinsed constantly. I think I wash mine every three days and it still looks like crap (black). The roads are soo much better when the temps stay below freezing. Anyway, mine leaks too. It's not leaking between the glass and the rubber, but between the two rubber seals that form the seal for the window. I've watched the water drip thru the two rubber seals. Weird.

these cars arent designed to be absolutely leak free at every angle with very high pressure water blasted at it.

they are designed to be weather, and wind proof.

you may need a quick adjustment, but if your weather strip is okay then your dealer will probably tell you NPF - no problem found.
