My 05 Coupe Not As Fast?

I recently bought a new 05 coupe (6 mt) and it just doesn't seem to accelerate as fast as the 04...

I know the 0-60 times are basically the same...is it just that I have less torque so I don't feel that "jump" when I step on the gas?

Could I have a defective car?

There are a few different resets even for the 6M/T.

They're all found in this thread:

I thought resetting the ecu was pointless because our "ecu" does not actually learn anything. Neffster stated this in another thread.

I also noticed that when i first got my 05 coupe. The 05 is less torquey than the 04 but it accelerates faster in the high end. Now that i've had this car for a few months, i actually seems faster than my 04 was though. But initially, i noticed the same thing you did. Give it awhile to let the engine break in more....it should get faster like mine did

If you are interested . . . You might consider reading up on Motordyne's MREV mod. You'll get all of the Non RevUp engine's torque back plus more.

I have a 04' AT that i've raced a couple times 1 time I raced a 05 6mt coupe on the freeway and I stayed infront the whole time 2 both times and I also pulled on an 04 6Mt as well from roll. but my car baselined at 258WHP so it's most likely. Some cars just have stronger motors.. But in return I get 13.5-16mpg. I also didn't allow for break in so I guess thats the trade off.

Get Motordyne Engineerings MREV mod. This restores the torque of the 287 HP engine, and then some! Great mod, best investment I've ever made.

your engine/powertrain warranty, yes. having said that i doubt it would ever give you problems... and even if it did im sure you could go back to stock and probably be ok
