Re: Stillen Supercharger

No it cannot be installed on an auto, but they will be coming out with one for the automatic transmissions pretty soon

Re: Stillen Supercharger

How many HP, Why cant the supercharger be used on the Auto.. transmission .. to my knowledge transmissions and supercharers dont share any .. common grounds.. I mean adding power is adding power.... Please don't make fun of me.. but I thought I was correct to say, any super charger as long as its for a specific motor, could be placed on any model of that car, unless one was running higher compression.. such as dodge's magnum motors can use the same turbo kits as the normal 2000+ SOHC motor can simply because its timing is way advanced, and its got higher compression.. as long as were running the same motors.. I don't see why we cant share the same supercharger/kit. ?? please help ~ Sincerely Brettt R, NJ.

Re: Stillen Supercharger

i mean to be honest, i really dont know the mechanics regarding the SP, as in the diferance between the MT supercharger and the AT supercharger. but think about this, there must be a good reason y there are two different setups, also if the SP for the AT wasnt all that different than the MT superchager they would have been our by now, dont u think?...just my $0.02 cents

Re: Stillen Supercharger

Ill bet there hasnt been much testing on the AT and the major issue is the ECU upgrade. Stillen will provide an ECU for the blower to get the correct fuel mapping. Im sure the AT version wasnt done.
Just more reason you all should of gotten a 6mt, since all the mods are being released for it first.

Re: Stillen Supercharger

Its basically going to be the same supercharger, same set up same everything, the only thing thats gonna be different is the fact that AUTO people will need different fuel maps which is harder to do.

Since AUTO ECU has a main one plus an additional one that controls the actual tranny shifting, those maps are really hard to pin point. auto shift the gears based on throtle position as well as speed and load on the car, so different fuel maps are needed for each one. thats why its gonna take them a while to do this.

To be honest, I have 2001 Honda Prelude and i was gonna go with Jackson Racing Supercharger for it, but due to the Auto tranny there was issues of blowing motors due to incorect tuning. So same thing pretty much carries over to the G35. once they get the ECU fixed up, then we will get the SC for auto tranny.

On a side note..... Does anyone know if Stillen warranties the SC or the car in case something happens?

Re: Stillen Supercharger

The ECU is definitely the main issue. A secondary issue might be that the Auto SC will probably be tuned down a bit because in most cases, an Auto transmission can handle less power than a Manual trans in the same type of car. It all depends on the tranny's ability to handle the extra power.

Re: Stillen Supercharger

hey g35mt,have you ever purchased anything from "Stealin" or have you read all the bullcrap on some threads which made you decide they are a bad company.I've had nothing but good customer service from them.Talk to Dean D. he's a good guy,he stayed cool and explained the dumbest question," Can i buy a flywheel for my Auto?" to someone who called in while i was there.Oh,and If you don't live close, and something does go wrong, expect to pay for shipping. So far they have only installed my grounding wires and exhaust and no problems yet.
mygspot, pretty much summed it up about the differences.
Yes,they will waranty your engine & drivetrain because they run with such low PSI without intercooling,so tuning(the engine, not the ECU) is fairly easy with low strain on parts I'm going to wait untill they release there intercooler and headers for there G.

Re: Stillen Supercharger

I have to retract that info back about stillen. The only reason why i boycott their product was base on my friend experience, not mine. Needless to say, i am sorry to express bias against them to you all.

Re: Stillen Supercharger

Really? That's interesting cuz' I saw a Laser Red 5AT at the stillen meet with their Super Charger kit on it. Wonder if that was a test car. I thought that the kit was ready for 5AT already.

Re: Stillen Supercharger

where exectly are they planing on putting the intercooler? Is this going to be made for the supercharger or something else?

Is this going to be Air intercooler or Water intercooler? I know they built WATER intercooler for tiburon with their supercharger and that thing gained nearly 90hp. If stillen can make the same thing...that would be great.

I dont think 5AT supercharger kit will come with less boost. It will be the same boost as the 6MT kit, just might not give enough power to the wheels, due to auto tranny. AUTO tranny on the usual will post about 10 -15whp less then the manual. But the main thing is not the tranny that can cause the problem its the TORQUE converter. That would be the first thing to go on the car due to heat an abuse.
