Car will not start.

Well I was leaving work last night and got in the car and tried to start it up, the car just kept cranking over but would not start up. I sat there for an hour before I got it flat bedded to the dealership.
Dropped it off at 11:30pm and received a call from the dealership today stating that the only code coming up is the security code for incorrect key he asked if I had changed keys since I got the car which is no as it is only just over a year old, then he said it starts sometimes and not others
It looks like the car does not recognise the key to my car WTF....this car has way to much security for it's own good, looks like I may need to get either get new key or change the so called antenna on the vehicle so that it works again.
Well at least they did not try and blame it on my Vortech or any other mods I have done to the car as I know other dealerships would have voided the warranty altogether. Hopefully my baby will be back with me soon but i was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or am I the first.

I sometimes get this problem at work.. Very rare, but it does come in once in a while. I just end up re-programming all the old keys and it works fine.

Paul,

I had on 3 occassions where my car would not start. It finally started on after multiple attempts after a few minutes on both occassions. I asked the dealer about this and they said that my key was the issue, same as yours. I was told to keep an eye on the red arming light. If the red light comes on while I am starting the car and the car will not start, then it's the key. This problem has not reocurred in some 3 months.

I trust the dealer fixes your problem.

I get red arming light so I have a feeling this is the issue, I may just tell them to disarm the damn thing completely, I hate this feature even though it was a nice idea .

I have an 06 6MT and I have had the same trouble starting the car. It has happened about a dozen times in the six weeks I've had the car. To me, it feels like the clutch switch is faulty and the car doesn't recognize that it is depressed. I have to let the car sit for about 30 seconds once it refuses to start and then it catches immediately. At first, I thought I was being sloppy about pushing the pedal all the way to the ground before turning the key. In my past cars, I used the clutch pedal as much as the key as the ignition switch. I thought I was somehow locking out the ignition by turning the key too soon but recently, I have been very careful to push the pedal first and I'm still occasionally having the same problem. I parked in an attended garage and they couldn't get my car started. First time I've had to hike down into the garage (NYC) and pull my own car out because the attendants couldn't. I have an appointment to have the dealer look at the issue and I'm braced for the 'we couldn't duplicate the problem' answer. Cars never misbehave for the dealer.

Yeah I was sort of praying that it wouldn't start for them either but when I got the initial call they said it is running fine for us and then an hour later they called back to say we are having the same issue

I did not call them today but I heard nothing from them so it is still not fixed.
My car is at Barber Infiniti of Fairfiled, really great people, I have bought 6 vehicles from them so far
