Goodbye G35. Hello M3!

Not too bad I guess but still $20K more. Anywho, I hope the next one looks better than the current one. I like the M3 for its performance but I just don't like the look of it right now. I may consider it again when I finish paying for my current G.
Oh, I was talking about my friends who have M's and 330ci's that are in the shop (I don't know anyone who actually have the new 5 or 7 series as those are just plane ugly).
However, no the 330ci doesn't compare to the G coupe, especially after you add all the options to make it come close to a G, it will start getting close to the M3 in price. Anyways, congrats on your purchase! I'm glad you are liking it so far.

You are absolutely right about the 330, it's great car but like you said it gets way too close to the M3 in price and it's still worlds apart from it in performance. In the end it's just another 3 series and not an M car, and an M3 is probably the only BMW I would ever own (and be able to afford). If the M3 didn't exist I'd be driving a G35 or a 350z now, I can tell you that.

That would be my fair comparison!
Damn you guys are making my decision hard. Being a current BMW 3 driver I have to say that I love my car but I need a lot more power in my next car. Since I’m planning on keeping my 3 sedan getting an M3 would be nice but like someone mentioned they do look similar to people that don’t have a clue. Unfortunately that’s probably the majority of drivers. I don’t want to get asked the same question a million times “Why did you buy the same car?” even though clearly they are totally different. So decided on getting a G35 coupe because I’m in love with the looks! Until I ran into this thread, now it’s back to the drawing board.
I’d wait until the e90 M3 comes out but I HATE the interior on the e90 sedans so if the next m3 will be anything like that I refuse to buy it. The other option I’m considering is getting the next G35. I’ll see what the final design looks like at the NY Autoshow but from what I’ve seen so far, best coupe design out. Wonder what the price will be? Motor Trend estimates 320-330HP V6, with some mods it could be in the M3 range. So many cars, so little money…

...Highly unlikely that new G35 will cost as much as M3, my guess is, the new G35 probably start from 37k to 43k for fully loaded one, unless you are talking about the Skyline GT-R.Off topic...who said we dont like M3s? everytime when a thread with M3 in its title? it usually viewed 4 thousand times and have 100 posts

but you are right about the price of the cars, that's why i bought my M 2 years used, like i said in previous posts, i'm done buying brand new
if i had known when i bought my G what i knew now, i would have waited and saved another year and bought the M i have now
just my $.02
