not sure if I read it right, but did you check it with the engine on? I'm not sure about the G, but most cars need to be checked when the engine is off and the oil is allowed to settle in the pan. Then the stick should be wiped and then redipped. What you may be seeing is splashing onto the stick from engine movement, thus the high level

While i agree its hard for them to do an oil change wrong, it's been done, i just dont trust them with the car i work my a$$ off to pay for. If you have a good dealer then more power to you but some people arent so fortunate. to each his own

I like getting the loaner! Ah, yes, the cookies and coffee...

i dont know about the easiest. somewhere around the 16th or 17th bolt on the undercover i was pretty frustrated. 20 bolts for one undercover is just a mystery to me.
No one wants to touch my G, it's too low not worth their time.
Plus I like to get under there to make sure there isn't leaks etc..
It is a b#tch though.. takes me a while to get it up.. and like 10 min to do the oil change lol..
I don't even use the dip stick anymore. 6 quarts (I have the spacer) and forget it.

I've serviced several Gs who had previously only been to the dealership and I've seen some crazy things left behind. The last G I had over in my garage had 2 crush washers smashed into each other and to boot the drain plug was tightened beyond the 25ft/lbs that infiniti specs.
I always replace the crush washer with a new one and remove the old one.
do it yourself, save some money, and have piece of mind.
the right tools can make the entire job take about 15 mins

Yea, do it yoself........
First off I would never use ramps.....jack and jackstands....just my thing! Since your using good
oil why use inferior filters....K&N filters on line for
$8 and if you buy three delivery is free....HP 1008.
You changed to Mobil 1 at 1k and that's OK.....I
couldn't stand having the factory oil in my G and I
changed mine to Mobil 1 @ 800 miles....I'm almost
to 13k and don't use a drop between changes! Five
quarts takes my level to H on the (wonderful) dip
stick.....you know you have to remove the d/s
wipe it off and reinsert it a second time to get a
true reading? LOL
