I have an intermittent rattle around the rear deck speaker(s) when playing certain levels of bass. The dealer ordered the "kit" to do the TSB for it.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this done and what the outcome was, before I go through the hassle of taking it into the dealership again.

HOw did you bring up the issue with the dealer... I have noticed a similar rattling and was very curious as to how to go about bringing it up so that they will take care of it as it should be fixed. Let me know...keep us posted!

 

i had it done a while back. i had to have a mechanic in the car for a test drive, dealer had to hear the noise in order to do the TSB. i had mentioned i was aware of the TSB and thought it was my problem. fix was done, one rattle down, another 20 or so to go!

 

I had my G's rear deck rattle fixed within an hour. They had to pull it apart and install some foam pieces to prevent it from rattling around. The rattles all gone. It's an easy fix to a common problem.

The rattle from the rear shelf and rear speaker area was driving me nuts in May when I got the car. Fortunately someone on Fresh Alloy posted a fix that you can do yourself. Nice and quiet now. Otherwise, take it to the dealer.

 

ok, got it handled today. Thanks for the input yall.

Turns out, apparently, it wasn't the TSB (which was done anyway) but in fact "stripped" screws holding one of the speakers on. Screws were replaced and new holes drilled. Its now fixed. I can crank the bass and no rattles.

What isTSB?

 

is the rattle for all coupes or those with the bose system and the extra speakers.

i believe it is for all coupes... it sounds like the 03 tsb's were not incorportated into the 04's
