Infiniti G35 in Rolex Series
You guys may already know this, but I just found it on Speed.com. I plan on going to the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL to see them in action this July. I think it will be cool to see a V-8 G35 in action.

Daytona Beach, Fla. – 11/28/2005 The newly formed Team HLM has announced today that it will be competing in the 2006 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series GT division. American Frank Howard and Australian Peter Law have carefully combined their more than 30 years of motorsports experience and professional experience gained from working in the top business executive and entrepreneurial environments to create a synergy of resources that they are confident will yield impressive results both on and off of the racetrack.
Team HLM will lead the Infiniti G35 GT Coupe two-car program that brings together Crawford Race Cars for chassis development and Menards Engineering International, which will focus on developing the 4.5 L Infiniti V-8 engine package. Team HLM aims at creating a fresh business-to-business approach as a partner to world-class racing action in an organization that can deliver top results in both areas.
“After months of discussions we agreed in principal that the Grand American world could support a race team using contemporary business principals,” explained Frank Howard. “As such we created a company, Howard & Law Motorsports, to manage a race team, ‘Team HLM’. We studied suppliers and marketing opportunities and settled on Infiniti, Crawford Race Cars, and MEI as our business partners. The support from Infiniti has been fantastic along with our strong working relationships with Max Crawford and Chris Sumner (MEI).”
“This relationship is everything I thought it would be,” added Peter Law. “We have made the right decisions and we’re meeting all of our goals. From the financial side, our business partners are lining up perfectly for us both from a timing and volume standpoint. From the personnel side, we are working carefully to develop Team HLM into an organization that not only has a clear and defined focus, but that can also execute with precision and perfection.”
Team HLM is based in Dayton, Ohio and has additional commercial offices in Phoenix, Arizona. Veteran racing professional Geoff Carter, who brings more than a decade of diverse motorsports experience to the outfit, is leading the final operational preparations as the team readies for its official launch during the prestigious Rolex 24 At Daytona January 26-29, 2006 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida at which time the full team and driver line-up will be announced.
Team HLM will then finish a testing schedule to make its competition debut March 25 at the Grand Prix of Miami at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.

I was at the Rolex Grand Prix of Miami they mention in the article and saw the 350z they had in GT class, it was a 6cyl I believe and so was the M3 GTR.
Most if not all GT cars have huge wings. You need to understand the concept of downforce at 150+mph. Plus most of the GT cars have a race weight of sub-2700lbs. I had the chance to lift the door off an M3 GTR, it only weighed 5-6lbs.
