2nd generation g35 coupe interior
After looking at the next generation concept g35 coupes interior I was blown away. Looking at the 2007 g35 sedan I have a feeling the next generation g35 coupe will look similiar to the 2007 g35 sedans interior. Such a let down since the thing i liked about the next generation g35 coupe was the interior. Oh well, if the next generation g35 coupes interior looks like the 2007 g35 sedans interior its still a huge improvement, just not quite as impressive as the concetps interior.

i'm concerned that the 07/08 coupe will head in the same direction as the 07 sedan as well. really liked the concept interior and while there are a couple of minor improvements as far as quality of instrumentation appearance goes on the 07 sedan- the blue/white/red and orange(?) cluster is an absolute eyesore.

should the 07/08 coupe go the direction i'm seeing above with the 07 sedan- i'll be heading elsewhere (but then again i've yet to put 1k on my 06 bought in Jan- so that may be awhile). not to get off top- for all you that enjoy quality sound take a look at the new integration of the bose unit and if you thought upgrading previous gens HU's was tough- this one looks to be nearly impossible- unless by some saving grace the jdm release is double din friendly.

i also like the interior of the new G:
- overall, just seems more 'upscale' inline with other cars in this price range
- like the colored dash, i always wished there was a little more color in teh current dash. wife has an acura that has a similar dash, looks good in person
- button layout seems to be a little more user friendly
- i also like where they put the clock, and i prefer it to be 'on its own' (i have the 06 G where the clock is embedded into the temp display cluster)
if there's one thing i love about my current G that's not on the new sedan is the retracting NAV screen - just love how i can pop it up only when needed

i personally don't quite like the 07 sedan interior for the following reason:
I like the clock being where it is on the 06 coupe. (dun like it on its own down low)
I like the navi being retractable
Orange is fine for me
Looks too "comfy" type, too much like the M series
though I can't complain about the quality it appears.

Manual mode
Another BIG improvement in the new G is the direction the shifter moves to engage manual mode. I have an FX45 now, and am always accidentally pulling it out of manual mode when cornering to the right, as I tend to pull against the shifter. I have a TL that moves to the left and like it much better. I am looking at getting an 06 coupe, but hate how easily the shifter comes out of manual (it would be nice if you needed to pull in the lock button to take it out of manual mode).
Here is a photo of the new console and shifter, notice that it now goes to the left.
