Miles per Tank???

Re: Miles per Tank???
I'm getting about 18 mpg. Not bad considering that 98% of my driving is in city in constant stop and go traffic. Traffic here in Miami can be pretty bad, even in the highway.

Re: Miles per Tank???
My clock is at 4000 miles. My miles per tank run around 16-17 mpg (320 mpt or so.) This is basically without any significant highway driving. The biggest contributing factor with me is I cannot shift below 4000rpm....the "G" does not allow that kind of babying. I find with this car I drive more aggessively...safely, but there's no love lost rowing those gears....this is obviously killing my milage...but it's OK.
Re: Miles per Tank???
My mileage has been increasing gradually from about 19MPG to about 22.5MPG at the latest fill at about 5000 miles now. This is for 70% constant highway and the rest in spirited driving.

Are you guys kidding me? I get around 200 - 225 miles on a full tank !!!!! How are you guys getting over 300 miles on a tank??? Is something wrong with my car? or my driving?????
Re: Miles per Tank???
Just filled up this afternoon so checked it out.
323 miles, taking 13.48 gals and that gets it just shy of 24mpg. Seemed pretty good this time.
Figure this tank was 30% hwy, 70% city.
The G is an AT coupe with 4850 miles running at 6k to 9k feet of altitude (home is at 7k). Have been using 91 octane since the beginning.
I typically saw 17-20 in town and 21-23 on the highway when I was under 2k miles, so the additional miles seems to have loosened it up a bit more along the way -- or maybe I am driving it more consistently. Do know I don't treat each and every stop light as a christmas tree any more... that probably helped more than anything ...

Re: Miles per Tank???
Almost time for a refill again. Right now I have 400 miles on the trip odometer and the little "I need gas" light is just starting to fade in and out. NAV says 25.1 mpg. This is with 40/60 (city /hwy) driving. And...since break-in is over, its also with some quick runs now and again. My advice would be if you are not "play driving", then get into 6th ASAP and take advantage of the torque. Also, you could even try shifting 1, 3, 6 and skip 2, 4, and 5 although I've only done that a couple of times, it works fine.

Re: Miles per Tank???
I'm getting about 340 a tank. About 22.7 mpg. That is about 50/50 highway to city driving. I usually do not use the AC and I try to drive under control, but it is difficult at times. Sometimes you just have to give it a little juice to make sure it's working right. I have just put 10,500 miles on.

Re: Miles per Tank???
I am averaging about 23 mpg. My usual trip is about 40 miles on the highway. When I use the car for errands, the mileage drops to about 18mpg.

Re: Miles per Tank???
Hi,
I have a G35 Coupe Auto with about 9400 ml on now...Although I drive the car very nicely the maximum I am ever able to get out of a tank is about 281 Miles, and that's if I am lucky. I have taken it to the dealer, and they say that everything is fine...I have escalated it to Infiniti, and they won't do anything about it....Ratio of Hwy/City is about 30/70%...Any thoughts?

Re: Miles per Tank???
I took a road trip this weekend. My usual 16-17 mpg city jumped to almost 23-24! I was pleased to say the least. 75-78mph the whole way. I'm not as worried that something is wrong anymore.

Re: Miles per Tank???
I took a road trip this past weekend as well. I averaged 76mph for a 380 mile trip, one way, and my gauge was between 1/4 and empty. That was at 22.6 mpg. I think I could have squeezed a 430 out of the tank. Around town though, I usually fill up when I get to a 1/4, and she'll show in the low to mid 3's.
