buying G.....maybe
I might sell my z and switch to a G. The G I looked at was a 04'. Only 11,000 miles, diamond graphite, 6MT, rear spoiler, brembos, etc. The best the infiniti dealer would do was 30,800 plus tax. Car was in perfect shape. What do you guys think? Deal or no?
I kinda ran a check on www.kbb.com
For an 04 6mt rated at "Good" Condition (4/5 stars):
Under Private party selling price you can expect these prices:
Excellent Condition: 31,660
Good Condition: 30,005
Fair Condition: 27,725
So by the dealer going $30,800, i would say that's a pretty fair deal. Could try to work the dealer into giving it to you for $30,800 OTD.

$30,800.00 for an '04 with only 11K?
When I bought mine new in Apirl 2004 same equipment package I paid $33,899.00 + Tax / Lic. If you've "booked it out" Kelly Blue Book, the 2004
G35's w/Brembos hold a pretty high re-sale value. After 2 years, $30-32,000 with average mileage is a good deal.
I suggest that you get the extended warranty 7/100,000 if you're going to keep the car for longer than 5/60,000miles standard.
Did you ask the dealer how they got the car? Trade-In or lease return? I'm assuming since it's an '04, it might have been a 2/3 year lease since the mileage is low.
GO FOR IT...!

Im a tightwad SOB so theres the disclaimer. Too much money for the car, you can get it cheaper than that. Dont pay more than 27500 for that car, especially without nav. Shop like I do, figure out how much you WANT to spend, then see how much you can get with it. If the 30,800 sticker looks good, shop that same offer around the other dealers/ebay/auto trader and I think you find a better deal.
I drove both and picked the G over the Z, but I use it like my regular every day car. If I wanted a weekend sports car I would probably go with ...a different car

Depends what you are looking for...
The G is definitely a luxury sports car that can easily outdrive other cars and be mod'ed to outperform many more. But it is a luxury car and has the feel of one. And it has the back seat, which can be used for midgets and children.
The Z is definitely a sprts car. It feels like a sports car and drives like one. Again, easily out-performs many cars on the road.
So, go with whatever fits you best. They both kick *** and either choice is not a bad one.

its the same car, driving experience will be the same, and looks... the G does look better, but the Z is still a great looking car.
its an 04, so the interior sucks compared to the 05-06.. if you're going to buy a G, get an 05-06.. if not.. save your money and buy something different.

Actually you are in a far better position to make a decision than any one else on this forum. You've driven your Z and you've driven the G, so what do you think? I've had my G35 for almost a year, and I have no regrets. It's about the best looking car on the road, has decent performance, and if you don't have a heavy foot, it gets decent gas mileage. Also, don't concern yourself about the prices that other guys say they pay. There are so many variables that comparisons are worthless.
I switched from Z to G (OK, I totalled my Z but that's beside the point). I personally like the G better overall but liked the firmer suspension on the Z. I'm switching out the suspension to make it firmer but that's my opinion. I think you could do better than 30,800 on it. PM me if you want any other comparison details, I had an '03 Performance model and switched to an '06 G35C w/ premium package.
