If one wanted to take the G to the level of performance enjoyed by the STi (300hp, 300tq), what would be necessary? Granted it's difficult to compare a normally aspirated engine to a forced-induction one, but if one were to add a CAI, exhaust, headers and other bolt-ons...could that level be theoretically reached or would forced induction still be required?

 

Oops I made a mistake... actually it was a 5MT 2002 Subaru WRX that C&D (Oct, ’01) got 5.4s 0-60 and the ¼ mile in 14.1 @ 96. That’s the fastest time I’ve ever seen for the non-STI WRX.

The WRX has all-wheel drive so it’s gonna leave the line a lot faster then the G when you drop the clutch at high RPM’s. But from a highway roll-on at any speed the regular WRX gets left way behind.

Ichibahn, even though they recorded around 5.4s in certain magazine, that doesn't mean wrx is a lot faster, it is still within 0.2s difference, and btw, if u read some other magazine they probably give u some totally different stats! Again, it is a driver's race, wrx maybe slightly faster at start (if any), but g35c at high speed territory can dominate the wrx, it is not like what u said that g35c will never be able to beat wrx, even looking at the stats it's a close one...

Anywayz, if racing is only about straight line, and 0-60, and no skill is required, then it is not called racing, how about handling? turns...etc., yeah, like rx8 has only around 170whp, and only recorded around 6 in 0-60, but guess what, an rx8 can actually keep up with a Z on some of the track that has a lot of turns and cornering, and actually beat the Z in some extreme track... becuz it handles better...

So g35c can definetely compete with the wrx even though it is a classy luxury car, 280hp give it more advantage at high speed while AWD and light weighted give wrx slightly advantage at the start... If u ask who will win on a highway, g35c for sure, off the line? hum, it is then a driver's race!

PS. only brochure racers talk only based on stats and comparing them, and not related to real life example, let's not be one of them, and btw, each magazine give different stats, how do u know urs is the accurate one?<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small"><EM>Edited by neohh on 09/15/03 09:54 PM.</EM></FONT></P>

first off, i never said what racing is or isnt. i agree that racing isnt just straight line acceleration, it also has to do with your cars handling capabilities( or as your dumbass likes to call it "turning and stuff")
all i said was that ive raced a few wrx's and have come out on top. maybe they juust couldnt drive? there could've been 100 different reasons why i won and they lost. If you werent such a thickheaded [censored] you'd come to realize this.

ANd for the record you do drive a shoebox. just look at that thing. Safe or not, I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

Now if I could only understand your last 3 sentences of your post i could reply to it....
