Volk offset help
Volk offset help
I am going to order some gunmetal Volk GT-S wheels for my 05 bs sedan. The wheel size will be 19 X 8.5 and the offset choices I was told for the sedan are 36, 43, or 46. I want to run the same offset front/back on 245/40/19 tires. Can you let me know what offset would be the best choice.
Thanks for your input.

first off, you need 245/35-19 tires to match the stock tire size.
for 19x8.5, your perfect offset is +43 (+46 in the front will be very very very close to the shocks; +36 will rub on the fenders).

Hey are you sure +36 will rub? There are a few people on this board that have +35 without any rubbing issues. I mean preferrably, wouldn't +36 look better too (closer to the fender and all)?

+36 will NOT rub. If you slam the car it will. It wont rub on a 1" drop like the Z springs for example. You can do 19x8.5 with a 36mm offset all around with no problems.

+35 WILL NOT RUB!! i have no idea where you guys got that.
I have a set of progressive spokes 19X8.5 +35 and 19X9.5 +45 and it fit perfectly!
it also depends on the tires i guess. if you get falken azenis st-115, then you won't rub cause the side wall slants in.

+35mm offset will not rub!! and 245-40-19 is good too...no problems whatsoever...give you a lil more meat and more comfortable...I have 20" with +35mm offset and nowhere close to rubbing, but some that have replied maybe put into consideration that you might want to lower your car, then +43mm would be ideal...

may or may not rub, depending on the drop, and on the tires.

[QUOTE=codeflux]first off, you need 245/35-19 tires to match the stock tire size.

I disagree. Running that size is -2.1% from OEM and if you run 245/40-19's (what I have), you're at +1.5% and fill in the fender gap a bit. Just sharing some facts with PAR_SC.

true true...anything less than +- 3% from oem is good...
