i dont know how to get the rivets onto the new bumper...and btw...do you drill it out by boring out the center from the top?

do we even need the rivets? seems like the screw will keep the mount on the new bumper...

Yes, drill the top out of the rivet and you should be able to remove the brackets from the old bumper. You will also need to drill the rivets out of the bumper reinforcement on page 6, step 6.

I didn't have a rivet gun so I used small screws, nuts/washers to secure the brackets.

I am on Yahoo messanger as solocru if you want to message me.

I went out and bought a rivet gun. I put those brackets on the new bumper with the rivets that came with the bumper. Everything lined up perfect. If you dodn't want to own a rivet gun, just buy it, use it, and return it. If you find that sort of thing ethic or not, that is your call. I kept mine, who knows when I will need it again.

No, it doesn't melt it. You insert the long narrow end of the rivet into the gun. The gun has teeth inside of it and as you pull the handle, the rivet starts to compress and then all of a sudden it "pops" and the rivet is in place while holding the 2 pieces together. Then you just throw away the long narrow piece of the rivet away.

The rivet comprises of 2 pieces. ---------------(===) As you pull on the long narrow end of the rivet, it pulls on the opposite end of the rivet and smushes it together. It ends up looking like this.

------------------ broken (=)

Hope this helps.
