Hi guys! I just got my X the other day. I owned 2 rwd sedans before but first time X owner so be nice please

Couple questions I have here for you guys (I'm still reading the whole thread but I just want to kick start my questions while learning. I have a set that I used with my rwd before I was wondering if it will still work with the X.

Specs:

18x8

225/40 ZR18 92W XL

18x9

235/40 ZR18 95W XL

Both +43 offset. I will need spacers for sure.

I started reading page 160 going up and I read at one page that for an X the tires needs to be the same? So my set up won't work then?

Also, I bought a set of megan lowering springs for my 350 that I was thinking of just installing to this car. It's rated to be lower the Z 1.25. So that means it will last the X 2.25 right? That's enough if a drop right?

Last but bit the least, I just noticed the other day. With stock height, is the rear really a tad lower than the front or is it just my imagination? And no, I didn't have anything sitting at the back when I checked.

Hope to hear some answers from you guys. Thanks!

^ As long as the overall tired diameter is the same the staggered set up will be fine, the drop from the z springs will be more like 2.75'' given the drop on the x is about 1.5ins more than a rwd

Thanks for the reply. So it should be okay then, right? As they're both 18" for the rims and both 40 for the side wall. Right?

For the X it's more compared to a RWD? Really? Is 2.75" gonna be way too low? Because I have a set of oem Z springs as well. Just wanting to know and see if anyone used megan springs before for their X. As the Oem Z springs doesn't look like its low enough.

Awesome! Thanks a lot!

So it's saying my rears are 1.3% taller. That's acceptable for the X right? I've read somewhere that it shouldn't be 3% higher?

i forget the numbers but i'm about 98% it will not work.

i think more along the lines of .3 inch or mm. I think i posted my findings in this thread say 2-4 years ago when i was in the same shoes.

There are only so many reasonable tire combos for 18's, i have one combo which is 235/45/18 and 265/40/18. That is actually a little outside of reasonable because my wheel width is 8.5, you need a 9 inch width for a 265 wide tire. But it is what it is.

^ seriously? It's that sensitive? I guess I'll just change the fronts to 235 as well I guess

Edit: I swear I saw at one point in this thread that 3% is acceptable.

Jook, is the shock and the spring maxed out? If the shock is but spring is not take away some preload, or remove one of the collars.

Yeah Shank, you can turn the lower and raise the shock into the mount.
