anyone have any suggestions for a slight drop on an X that wont ruin your shocks and struts after 2000 miles if that. WITH OUT saying coils =]

 

i went to order the coils and i saw 2 different ones for the g35

one was model d-17 and the other was g-17? which would fit an 2006 g35x?????

 

Where can i get these coilovers for the X? Link anyone?

For the ones who have the coilovers already how has the handling improve? any bodyroll? Thanks.

On Friday from Joshua at Image Import Racing. I ordered my BC coilovers for my 04 G35X. He says I should have them by Wednesday. I also ordered 18inch Axis Circuit Wheels and Michlen Pilot A/S Plus tires. The wheels may take almost three weeks to get here. I probably have the coilovers installed when they get here, and the new wheels and tires later when they come in. I'm planning to do just a modest drop maybe something like an inch all around, haven't quite figured it out yet, but do to New England weather and roads I'm not going to drop it much. Any tips on adjusting them. I don't want too harsh a ride.

I've got my BC coilovers scheduled to be installed on my G35x this coming Monday at Enhanced Street Performance in Sterling MA. They're only about six or eight miles from me but I just found out about them recently. Here is a link, http://enhancedstreetperformance.com/

I plan to do a minimal drop that won't put me at much risk of bottoming out on something in these bad New England conditions. Anyone have any suggestion on front and rear setting? I was thinking maybe about an inch on both. I'm told I won't need camber kit, but just a good allignment.

On Monday I got my BC Coilover's installed. Now I'm waiting for my new wheels and tires ordered over internet. Found out today that my order was never processed. I ordered the stuff on September 30. For about two weeks nothing's been done other than my credit card being charged. I was told it was going to take about 3-5 days to get the wheels delivered to the internet retailor, and then a day or two for the internet company to put the tires on the wheels pack them and ship them, and then probably about four days for UPS to get to my door. I'm not happy about the screw up at all. Maybe people are lined up around the block to spend this kind of money on wheels and tires in the middle of the worst recession since at least 1981, with 12 percent unemployment in sunny California. . . but I doubt it.

^Take some pics of the drop...I'm looking to get the BC Coilovers as well for the Spring. How much did they end up charging you for install?

 

I may be able to get pictures and post them tomorrow. I'm dropped about 1 1/4 inches all around, which I think is just a little bit more than I'd like to be. At first the dampening was set to the middle value all around , but now I've put the front four clicks toward soft from the middle. The rides really not what I'd call particulary harsh at all, and frankly the handling is unreal. The cars begging you to attack the curves and corners.

On the install the install itself went smooth and it didn't take them all that long maybe 2 1/2 or three hours. They also installed the extenders in the back. Adjusting the height took quite a while, there was a lot of taking the wheel off and on and fooling with it until they had it even all around and stuff. It looked like the rear was giving them some trouble. As I remember it came to about four and a half hours total. They charged me about $400, which was about $50-$100 more than I figured the job would cost. It seemed a lot for the job, and I would have been happy if they cut me some slack and billed me for something like $320 but what are ya going to do. I took it to a pretty high end place, not just the place up the block. I have to get it aligned but I want to wait for that until I get the new wheels and tires. Right now it doesn't drive like the alignment is obviously off.

Guess what my question is...I'm getting a set of 18" AXIS Halo's for my 05-06 G35X, and I'd like to throw some spacers in the rear (thinking 15-25mm) but I also want to lower the car. From what I've seen I'll get the Tien H-Tech Springs. Anyone have a set up like this or can tell me if is going to rub with 9.5" wide tires in the back and 8.5's in the front?

HAHAHA, quoting myself, So thanks all for the emails, Got one more, So lets say I get 18's, 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, then I decide to lower it an inch, Roll the fenders or will it handle it...Know this is kinda a dumb question as you pretty much answered it when you said 19's won't fit w/o rolling but want to be sure before i buy anything... AND Do I have to cut any of the wheel wells?

Drop is on BC coilovers all around. Drop is about 1 1/4 all around. Damper setting is about in the middle. Handling is crazy good, with little harshnes. Ideally for New England this time of year I'd like to raise the suspension just a little maybe to an inch or just under an inch all around. I'm not sure what the most minimal drop you can get with the BC's installed. Can you get back to stock height with them on? Anyway the car handles like a sports car. It dares you to attack the curves and corners. Just have to be careful about road hazards even with fairly minimal drop.
