The fate of the G35, hmm, check dis out!

My last post about the G35's trunk stimulated this possible eventuality. When the Maxima first came out it was smaller amd was supposed to be a 4 door sports car. Over time it became more powerful and larger. The new one is larger and its size contributes to lack of nimbleness.

Down the road after much customer input will the G35 grow larger. Imagine a larger interior, larger trunk and of course, a longer wheelbase. The BMW 745 handles amazingly for a big car. Will Infiniti leave this car's size alone and create another new I30/35 for the family market? Maybe next year's 2005 Maxima will handle better.

Look at the Camry, it too has grown over the years, to better accomodate families. I know the Camry and G35 are very different cars. Ultimately sales motivate car builders.

So what do you guys/gals think? Me I luv m'car a but I'm justa little curious about the future...

The ***'s have their sights zeroed in on BMW. So just as the 3-series hasn't changed much over the years, it's probably a safe bet that the G won't either, otherwise they may fail to measure up to the 3's abilities.

One thing your forgetting about the Maxima is that was the biggest car Nissan sold domestically. So as it evolved, it got bigger and bigger. Infiniti has larger sedans like the M45 and Q45 so there is really no need to increase the size of the G35.

Hot 4carz, I'm with you, I am very curious about the M35 also. I have to admit I'd be interested in the V8. I'm a horsepower junkie!

Shodog...shonuff You're absolutely right I did forget. I did know that the Maxima was the largest sedan sold domestically. I had 98 MaxSE 190 hp. Nice ride, but did not handle anywhere as good as the G35.

I must say I read alot of your posts, you always offer insighful intelligent responses. Same goes for Chinee and hot4carz. It a pleasure conversing with such knowledgable people especially when we drive the same car.

I do hope the G35 is slightly refined and does not endure big changes.
Thumbs up to you guys!
Respect.

For my family, with two small kids, the size of the G sedan is ideal. There is a new 3 series Bimmer on its way fairly soon, and it is supposed to be a bit larger, with a back sat one can actually use. They claim it was to compete with the surperior room in the new C class, but have you ever sat in the back of a C? They have a decent amount of room, but NO foot room.

So in terms of size for passengers, the G is really one of the most efficient packages on the market, and the Germans should really take a lesson from Nissan.

I'm glad Infiniti is zeroing in on the BMW. My brother in law bought a Mercedez and paid 20 grand more than I and freaked as to how many features he's got that I've got for almost half the price. But for some reason people just don't have the same respect for Japanese premium cars as they do for the German's. Stupid.

Anyone seen any pics of the M35?

"And you only paid how much for this car?" Shock & Awe G-35!
