so proud of my g35 after race

I love my g35. I raced my good friends Dodge Dakota 5.9 RT.
He has a supercharge, heads, chip and everything else done to it. It has about an estimated 450hp to the flywheel and 370hp to the rear wheels. His truck has been acting up lately so I don't know if it was a fluk or not but I beat him. We were dead even until we shifted to second and then I pulled away. I am pretty excited. In my opion G35's are dam fast cars. Well I have to enjoy it while I can because I know he will beat me when he finishs fixing up his truck and gets it all tuned in but for now I am dam proud.
I used a break torque start at 2000 rpms and shifted in manual auto mode. Oh yeah I have a 2004 sedan auto with sport suspension and full aero dynamic kit.
These are the coolest cars.

I don't like racing trucks.. stupidest thing in the world ... trucks are supposed to be used for hauling things not racing

BTW you shouldn't be street racing but I don't think it's a fluke at all. That truck is a hellava lot heavier than your car and I have not heard good things about that engine. There is a smaller V8 from Dodge that is supposed to be faster than the 5.9 at least in the stock format.

Say that to a Ford Lightning. It will whoop a G with VERY few mods, and possibly beat it in stock form. Watch out for the new Ford Lightning, and the new Dodge SRT truck. Both are going to be pushing 500HP, and will crush our cars in a race. (Lightning will be faster)

I'm pretty sure the current Lightning is already quicker than a G35.

The other downside to trucks is.. there's hardly any weight over the drive wheels, so there's less traction.

i agree with alderran...besides hauling, the only time trucks should be racing is off road or through the mud. otherwise, its just plain dumb...

Obvioulsy a 500 HP truck is going to beat a G35, and i don't think anyone would be ashamed to lose to one.

I was merely commenting on the whole truck issue. I think that fast trucks are the best of both worlds. You have a fast vehicle that can also haul boats, trailers, etc. Plus it's probably pretty funny for a Lightning owner to pull up next to some ricer who is revving his engine, then smoke his ***. I almost bought a Harley truck, but decided against it because of gas mileage.

Re: so proud of my g35 after race

They are also a danger to all other vehicles because they don't have the handling characteristics to handle that much power safely.. after all it's just a pickup truck.

What's the price on those things... I remember looking at Expiditions at a Ford dealer (my brother was buying a Mustang) and I am like 40K to drive around in pickup truck? That is retarded!

You can't say that about the handling unless you know what you are talking about. The Lightnings have modified suspension from the regular F150's. I have a buddy that open tracks one, and it will smoke many cars on the OT too.

Re: so proud of my g35 after race

Really what's the front to rear weight ratio? Do you have some skid pad tests .. how many G's can it hold in a corner.

Give me a break all the suspension modifications in the world isn't going to make it not be a pickup truck... which is made for hauling stuff not racing.

The govt should really do something about all these people driving around in SUV's and pickup trucks for no reason other than it's cool or looks tough.

The Ford Lightning screams I don't really need a truck but I just bought one because I am a pig.

Re: so proud of my g35 after race

that's just plain stupid...To say that a truck is just a truck, and the suspension can't handle certain power levels is ignorant. With enough money and engineering, you can make a pickup handle so much better than a sedan, coupe, whatever...

The Lightnings are running low 13's and high 12's stock with good air. Check out the skidpad numbers as well. Keep believing that the "Trucks" are all the same, and your G is the best thing on the road. It's nice - I love mine. Lets wake up, though and realize there are other vehicles that are faster, quicker, whatever...

Re: so proud of my g35 after race

I don't think my G is fast or the best thing on the road... I've had it for 4 months and haven't raced anything with it..

I think it's stupid to drive around in a racing truck... Why would you buy a truck if you aren't going to haul stuff with it.

If you don't think those trucks are a menace to other vehicles then that's your opinion .. mine is different

You know what's another menace? The lunch box on wheels otherwise known as a hummer... Those things are ridiculous!

Re: so proud of my g35 after race

Wow, you are ignorant. I will come up with that info, and give it to you. I am at work right now, so I can't do it. The Lightning is the best of both worlds. It is fast, it can haul "stuff", and it can handle better than MANY vehicles on the road that aren't SUV's or pickups. No one ever said it was a "racing truck." Come out of your bubble, man, and see that the engineers of these vehicles know alot more about suspension dynamics and handling capabilities than your lame ***.

Aldermann I don't know if your posts were meant to be flame bait of if you truly feel that way. Your best bet is to bone up on some facts rather than post speculations. If engineers can make cars with great suspensions and handeling, don't you think they could do the same to a truck?

The hummers are not that bad. My friend has one a s a company vehicle. They are big, boxy and are not very fast but they are great for driving in the fast lane. Everyone moves out of your way.
